  1. Add an Owning Library facet in Repository searches

Can we please have the owning library added as a facet in repository searches. At the moment it only appears in Acquisitions based searches as we have four libraries making up our collections this facet would also be very useful in the general searching

  2. Search by any standard number in Search External Resources

We would like to be able to search WorldCat by any standard number (UPC, ISMN, music publisher number, video publisher number, etc.) through the Search External Resources tool. This would be particularly helpful for locating audio-visual resources without having to search in the native interface.

  3. Unclutter index for F3 lookup from field 830 (Series Added Entry - Uniform Title)

F3 lookup from field 830 is used to verify if a series title has been entered into the database in a standardized form, and, if so, to link the bib record to that title . At present, the index searched by F3 contains a mixture of headings from fields 830 and 490 (where the non-standardized series title is entered) and headings with volume numbers (which refer to a part of a series, not the series as a whole). To best serve its purpose, the index looked up from 830 with F3 should contain and display only the fields $a, $p,…

  4. Full PCRE Regular Expressions in Normalization rules

Supporting full PCRE regular expressions would make Normalization rules so powerful. Allow capturing data in one place and re-using it somewhere else, checking for substrings, etc.

  5. More than one work order type per Word Order Department

In our library, one physical location in the library handles many processes. However, we still want patrons to see a different status for each kind of work order. Right now, only one work order type (the source of the Primo Statuse) can be associated with any given work order department (the currently at location.) So, in order for our patrons to be able to tell the difference between an item at the bindery and an item being repaired in house (with their corresponding turn around time) our staff has to switch currently at locations when they switch tasks. Can you…

  6. Add members to set from results screen

We would like an easier way of adding individual titles to itemized sets. It would be nice if, on the results screen after performing a search, you could click the ellipses menu for more options and see "Add to set" there, which would then direct you to select a set to which you'd like to add that record.

  7. Normalisation rules that apply to holdings using information from Bib record, and vice versa

Have normalisation rules that are applied to holdings able to use information from the bib record. This would allow more complex holdings and call numbers to be automatically generated more easily than using the current call number system as a workaround.

  8. Make display thumbail display option configurable based upon user or role

Recently turned on the thumbnail display in Alma. Half liked it, mainly fulfillment, half didn't acq and cataloguing. Maybe possible to make this setting customizable based upon user or Role?

  9. Ability to browse all call numbers in a single search

We would like the ability to browse all call numbers, regardless of call number type. In Alma, many of our local Library of Congress, Dewey, and SuDocs call numbers are retrievable only by the call number type Other Scheme. An “all call number” browse would allow us to retrieve a complete shelf list of our call numbers and would be especially helpful when assigning new call numbers.

  10. Search bar

Allow for the most recent and/or the most used search facets to display within the simple search bar. Within the search facets options for All titles (Title) Requires someone to scroll at length down the page. This functionality is available in other parts of the new UI within Alma where the most recent used entries display first.

  11. Ability to see inventory of matched records in 'Side by Side Matching'

It would be very helpful to be able to see the inventory for matched records in 'Side by Side Matching' when working on records with import issues. Currently, it's necessary for me to have Alma open in a second browser and search for each matched title to see which collection the title belongs to, which then influences my decision on how to deal with the new record. This is shown if there is more than one match, but it would be great if it was shown for single matches as well.

  12. Editing multiple collections from a set in bulk

We have a lot of historic collection records left over from our migration which we would like to update in bulk, for example, there collections have no portfolios so I would like to be able to add services to them all at once rather than individually. I'd also like to be able to update the "Library" field etc.

I can create a set of all these collections however, I can't make bulk updates to it. It would be great if there was an ability to run a job to add services and download a spreadsheet of all the fields in…

  13. Different authority icon

In authority control instead of having the looking glass icon, an icon that indicated the heading was Full or not would be better.

  14. Fuzzy match method is creating too many duplicates with import profiles.

Fuzzy match between author and title is checking too many subfields in MARC-field 100. I.e. 100 $a Øverland, A. O. $d 1855-1911 $q Ole Andreas is matched against 100 $a Øverland, A. O. $d 1855-1911 and is considered not the same person, it seems. When the record also has title in 245 $a which are exactly the same, it is consdered a "not match" and a new record is imported. I would like to suggest that only subfield 100 $a is checked. 245 $a should be checked together with $n and $p. In addition i would like to have 250…

  15. Allow copying of publishing profiles

Please allow copying / duplication of publishing profiles, much like you can currently make copies of import profiles. In other words, this would allow for "save-as" type functionality, allowing us to easily spin off another slightly modified publishing profile (like we can do now with import profiles).

    thanks!

  16. Show 866 holdings field text on item records screen, so don't have to go back and forth to check holdings dates.

Presently from the list of item records, we have to click on "Holdings" to see the 866 summary holdings for vol & dates. It would be very helpful for the 866 holdings to be visible on the item record screen.

  17. Conversion job for any part of the record to any other part

    Hello,
It would be nice if there was a job of conversion of every part of a record (bib, hol, item, portfolio) into another part, for example:
    Bib records into Items
    Bib records into Holdings
    Bib records into Portfolios
    Bib records into Orders
    Items into Bib records
    Items into Holdings
    Orders into Bib records
    Orders into items
    Orders into Portfolios
    Portfolios into Bib records
    Portfolios into Orders
This way, we will not be limited by the search for any job.
For example, we would be able to search Bib records, convert the set into items and run a job for…

  18. Increase download limit on large sets

The limit on the number of records that can be download to Excel from a set is around 70,000 records. Sometimes it's necessary to download larger sets (200,000+) but this is limited by size. It would be better if there was an option to download in CSV so larger data sets could be exported. Or, the Retrieve Set Members API was improved to include the information that is present in the Excel file downloaded from the set's results page. Or, there was an additional export job that allowed a set to be exported using one of the bulk jobs under…

  19. Ability to edit records during import when manual handling required

During the import of records, we sometimes get the "Manual Handling Required" notice, from which we can view the record in question as well as its error.

On that screen you can view the record and we have often found that only a small fix is needed to correct the error, and would be best done at this point in the process rather than getting the original file, making a change, and either reloading the whole thing or extracting the one file to fix and reload it alone.

It would be nice if, along with the ability to simply view…

  20. Task list customization

Currently, the task list is automatically configured based on user roles. However, there are many features assigned to a role in Alma that a user may not actually deal with. For example, as electronic resources manager, I do not need to see print order lines to claim for print titles. This is particularly an issue because other departments do not always use the task list in their workflow, so mine can become cluttered with their content. We would like additional customization to be available within the task list, so that we only see relevant tasks.
