How can we improve Alma?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.

  1. Customize display of fields in Alma Article request form

    We would like to display the fields in the Alma article request form in the following order: Journal name, year, volume, issue, pages, article title, article author, and issn - and not in the order these fields are currently hard-coded (e.g. author initials splits volume and issue, and publication date is at the end of the form)

  2. Renewing resource sharing requests

    When changing the date in the borrowing side, we then have to manually change again in manage patron services. It would be great if we could just amend the date once and this information is carried across.

  3. British Library Billing Account codes visible in Lending Resource Sharing

    Display partner Billing Account codes in Lending side for UK Alma Institutions. This is vital information for reimbursements within the UK and reduces the need for paperwork. British Library Billing Accounting is the UK standard workflow, with a view to being ISO compliant.

  4. Producing the shipping forms by supplier

    Each time a request has been marked "Ship" or "Return", the request details will be collected on a "Shipping Form" (by supplier).

    When ready to ship a package -with returned/requested books- to another library, "print form" will:
    1. Produce a full detailed form to include with the box
    2. Will start a new form for future package.

  5. Add more options for ILL integration

    Adding ILLiad integration to Alma was welcome but also brings more issues into the system. For example - patrons are shown in their account via Primo that ILL loaned items are not renewable. They are but not via Alma. A customizable message for the Resources sharing library that would display in "My Account" saying "Renewable via ILLiad" would be welcome. We have configured ILLiad to send courtesy notices. Now that we have integrated with Alma patrons get two courtesy and "due today" letters because Alma cannot turn off letters for specific locations.
