  1. Seperate the price and currency in Item's inventory price

    The field Inventory price field in physical item contains price and currency while Alma copies price from POL to item.Please seperate the currency into anohter field and make sure the price field is numeric. In this way, the Inventory price field can be counted directly.

  2. Eliminate the confirmation step when editing item records.

    The process of receiving journal items is unnecessarily slowed down by having to confirm every single edit. Clicking on "Save" should be enough to get the job done. Breaking out Receive as a separate step has already added a step to the process. Please consider any and all ways of reducing the amount of time spent looking at blue spinning circles. Thank you.

  4. Manage Multiyear Licenses for Electronic Resources in a POL

    Hi,

    It is common for libraries to sign multi-year price lock deals for e-resources (databases, journals, etc). Currently, we are keeping track of this information as "Notes" which is hard for us to follow since "Notes" used for other purposes. Also, we need to update the "List price" accordingly before we proceed with a renewal /invoice payment.

    Would it be feasible to have a POL type that is catered for multi-year deals. I was somewhat inspired by the new feature in the Jan'18 release that is meant to record multiyear licenses in a Network Zone. A similar feature in the…

  6. Add "Move to department" option for Acq departments

    We would like a new option called "Move to Department" in the Receiving workbench AND in the Scan in Items form. The new option would have the effect of marking the existing Acq process as Done, and putting the item(s) in transit to the next department. Currently, if a workflow involves moving something from the Acq department to another department, such as a central End Processing unit that handles multiple libraries, the receiving staff have to perform multiple time-consuming steps.   7. Using "Change expected date" clears filters on "Order lines with claims"

    When using the "Order lines with claims" task it's useful to add filters, such as Purchase Type and Vendor, to refine your list of claims. However, if you use the "Change expected date" option, which should be quicker than Edit, it clears your filters once the new date is saved.

    Can you please allow the filters to remain after using the Change expected date function? Thank you

  8. 'Release remaining encumbrance' Box To Be Ticked as Default

    When looking at manually created invoices it would be ideal if the 'release remaining encumbrance box' be ticked by default. It currently is left blank and we have to remember to tick it each time.

  9. Ability to attach bibliographic record to CZ order

    The Change Bib reference action is not available for POLs that have originated from the Community Zone. This is an issue as POLs with CKB references don't have bib record information which can be used in Analytics.

    In our SalesForce case about this (00570591) we were told that POLs for an electronic item can be relinked only if it has an MMS ID in the first place, and we see from the manual that changing the bib record isn't possible using the relink action if there’s not already a bib record attached:

  10. Associating with more than one POL

    Currently you can only associate a POL with one other POL. I would like the ability to associate a single POL with multiple POLs. This is helpful in associating different titles that are paid in a single package, or arrive together.

  11. Change Financial Year dates after they have been set

    It doesn't look as if it is possible to change the start and finish dates of any financial year in Acquisitions Configuration > Fund And Ledger Fiscal Period table mapping tables once the year has been created, unless it is deleted completely.

    Can it be made possible for the start and (in particular) the end dates to be edited having already been set and saved, if so required?

    Being able to do this would be of particular benefit around the time of a financial year rollover, especially if an institution cannot be certain that all financial transactions for the outgoing…

  12. Open predicted issues in bulk / by help of a job

    only option in alma is opening the predicted items per title. We would like more functionality in the receiving workbench. We can see that predicted issues can be opened for the coming year when in the receive screen, so have to do it title by title!

  13. Defer PO Lines with Acquisition Method "Purchase at vendor system"

    The documentation on Deferring PO Lines clearly states that "you can defer any PO line except those with the Acquisition method of Approval plan or Purchase at vendor system" (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/ProductDocumentation/010AlmaOnlineHelp(English)/020Acquisitions/050Deferrals/010DeferringPOLine_Workflow).

    We would like to be able to defer PO lines with the Acquisition method of Purchase at vendor system. We have many PO lines with this Acquisition method that are only paid every few years, i.e. 5-year hosting fees. The ability to defer PO lines with this Acquisition method would allow us to clear encumbrances for the unaffected years and release those…

  14. Automated order claiming

    We need a solution for order claiming that works automatically for this for groups
    - one time orders
    - subscription orders
    - standing orders
    - online resource orders.

    Workflow:

    a) The expected receipt date/expected activation date in the order/item/portfolio is reached.
    b) Alma must send an claim to the vendor.
    c) Alma changes the expected delivery date/expected activation date automatically by taking the information from the vendor-account (date of day plus expected receipt after ordering (days)/date of day+expected activation after ordering (days)).
    d) A reminder in the task list is not necessary.

  15. Un-receive option for items not in-department with interested users.

    Current un-receive functionality is restricted to items which are still in department and having no interested users. It would be very helpful to have un-receive available without these two conditions attached.

  16. Option to receive from items list

    Please make it an option to receive an issue, without having to navigate away to the specific "Receiving" page, if you are looking at it on an items list. Often I'll be working on items and notice that one of them is not received when it should be, but I can't change that without interrupting my workflow or opening a new window.

  17. Add a Description column in the Received Items List page

  18. Copy POL data to new POL with different order line type

    We still experience issues when a POL is created with the 'wrong' POL type / inventory type (e.g., a print POL is created but e-inventory needs to be attached) - these 'incorrect' POLs must be deleted and recreated manually. There are other ideas out there to make POL types and architecture more flexible, such as this one:

    Some publishers allow text data mining of databases/ejournal packages and this needs to be noted as a license term of use

  20. Ability to assign Renewals.

    In the same way POLs or Purchase Requests in review can be assigned. This will give us that ability to assign subscription renewals to selectors/budget holders for approval.
