Self checkout sip2 - ability to restrict checkin by item type/location
Certain items need to be checked in at the circ desk such as reserves or equipment. Currently self checkout does not support any restrictions.

So you can only do restrictions by desk? That doesn't work as our reserves are at the same desk as our main collection. We need restriction from Item type.

You can create restrictions by allocating a location to these items. The circulation desk that is assigned to the self check profile may be configured to not allow check-in\out action for items of that location.
