Quick Cataloging
Since Resources>>Create Inventory>>Add Physical Item has been adapted for use in scenarios where additional cataloging is neither required nor desired (e.g. brief bibs for equipment), it would be nice to include a tick box (similar to the Suppress from Discovery) to indicate that additional cataloging is required. When the box is checked, a work order will be triggered for additional cataloging and the pick from shelf request will be created. When the box is not checked, the record and item will be created with no work order or request. Additionally, it might be nice to have a configuration setting for "Requires Full Catalaging" (or perhaps Requires Additional Cataloging) to be checked or unchecked by default so that each institution can configure it to suit their typical workflow.

Great idea. We sorely need Ex Libris to recognise that automation is not always awesome and we need to be able to stop Alma from "helping" when it is not helpful.

I'm out of votes, but I support this idea. This behavior (always adding to pick from shelf) is one reason we avoid using Quick Cataloging.
