comment/note field for configurations
A comment or note field for configurations would be incredibly helpful in general, but the current pandemic has highlighted the need for a way to easily track the reasons behind changes. This would keep the notes in the places where they'd be seen by the people working on the configurations, rather than us having to track things in a separate place.
All of the fulfillment configuration menu would benefit from this ability when short-term or emergency changes are being made. But it would also be good in places like: Letters; DARA recommendations; and all Other Settings areas. These are places that we might only touch once a year or less, so it would be helpful to know why X was deactivated, or who asked for Y change in wording.
Thank you for this idea,
We have noted that the idea goes beyond fulfillment and suggests adding notes to many Alma entities. This of course make much sense, and we will be making our plans towards implementing that. Work will most probably start with fulfillment configurations entities.

Can you, please, give us a timeline, when we can expect this for fulfillment configuration? Especially in times of Covid we are desperately waiting for this developement.

Yes, it's vital to have an audit trail for important config changes, as you would for other major IT systems.

Totally agree about searchability for these notes. Advanced Search functions in Alma, at a minimum. But likely should go into Analytics as well. As Betsy Friesen pointed out on Alma-L, these have implications for auditing and so being able to easily export them would be good.
This would be very useful. Have no more votes left, but: Yes, please!

Yes please. I would like to add that it would be nice if those notes would be seachable in a way and the note creator automatically identified.

Yes please. A bit like an in-place change log.

This would be very helpful. We currently track all of this offline in a Word document, which is inefficient and hard to search if you're looking for a specific change and why/when it was done.

Sounds like a great idea.

It would be helpful to have a comments field on the Discovery Interface Display Logic (which is also under the fulfillment configuration menu)
