Ability to suppress the structure of a Digital Collection from Discovery (Primo)
When a Collection is created in Alma the structure is visible in Discovery (Primo). We would like to suppress from Discovery the structure of a Collection in Alma. For example, we've created a Collection for which the structure is internal. We don't want to make it visible or accessible by users. As an example, please check out the Collection Discovery page: http://labordoc.ilo.org/primo_library/libweb/action/collectionDiscovery.do?menuitem=5&vid=41ILO_V1&colayout=grid&inst=41ILO
The collection we want to suppress from Discovery is “ILO Digital Inventory”. To manage collections internally and control what is being visible in Discovery may be useful to other Libraries. If only Alma could have a box that we could click to suppress from Discovery, this feature would be fantastic!

Hi Daniel,
Actually, I don't want to suppress the records. I would like to suppress the structure of the collection from Primo. Not the content of the collection. Some collections have been created as internal collections. The structure of those collections should not be visible.
I hope this is clear. If you click on the link I've posted you will find the collection "Digital Repository". This is the perfect example. We want to suppress the structure, but not the records.
Thank you for your help on this.

Hi Susana! This is currently supported in the system and can be done similary to suppressing any record. Collections are rpresented by a BIB, so suppressing that BIB will prevent its structure from being discoverable. The content itself will continue to be discoverble. Suppressing can be done via the MD editor -> tools -> Set management Tags -> Suppress from Discovery. You can read about suppressing in the online help, but it will be updated to cover the collections use-case too.
