Display Logic: shared NZ choices in IZ
Currently, the Display Logic settings are limited to IZ resources only; they do not allow choices for resources that are shared from the NZ among several institutions.
For example, my library offers unmediated CCC document delivery for certain Wiley titles we don't subscribe to. So when I set the display logic rule, it should be "Hide service Full Text with Electronic collection = CCC Get It Now Wiley if exists service Full Text with Electronic collection = Wiley Online Library." However, because the Wiley Online Library ecollection is shared in the NZ for my consortium, it will not appear as an option when I try to create the rule.
Hi all,
Thank you for supporting this idea!
I'm happy to inform you that starting from the August 2025 release, the Display Logic Rules configuration was enhanced to enable Network members to add a rule using a combination of local and network e-resources. In addition, the Network Zone administrator can access the Member Display Logic Rules configuration via the Central Configuration Dashboard to create a rule using a combination of local and network e-resources for that member.
The interface of the Logic Rules configuration has been enhanced as well to make the configuration more intuitive and accurate.
Read more about it in the Alma Release Notes.

Thank you Maud for the update! PASCAL's members will definitely benefit from this!

Dear community,
This idea is planned to be included in the August 2025 Alma release.
Thank you once again for bringing our attention to this need.

The roadmap now shows something along these lines for 2023 H1: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Materials/010Roadmap/Alma_Roadmap_Highlights_(2022-2024)_-_July_2022_Update/Consortia "Members of a consortia [sic] will be able to control the appearance of Network Zone shared Electronic Services in the Link Resolver using Display Logic Rules"

This would be incredibly helpful for any consortia using this product. The originator posted 5 years ago but it seems like plenty of people would like this functionality. Please make this a priority.

Our NZ has all OA journals and all consortium-funded databases/journals. This function is very important to libraries with consortia and NZ.

This is an essential function - we should be able to use display logic and hide ILL requests for articles when we have access regardless of how that access is managed in Alma. If the FT access is managed in an NZ collection and we have no other IZ online holdings, currently we can't hide the ILL request option. This is a serious shortcoming discouraging libraries to rely more heavily on the NZ.

Just had another discussion today about frustrations from member libraries and the interaction of IZs and NZ. Would help alot to have display logic rules (for example) work for e-titles in both the IZ and NZ.

Would be very helpful to consortia and to their patrons.

In our consortium, this kind of change is essential, as it is untenable now for us to try to do this kind of settings changes for each of the campuses that have an IZ.

This is a very important request to us. Strictly speaking, this is actually a design error, since it runs contrary to the concept of the NZ. Settings in the NZ *should* be inherited by the IZs, as this is its main purpose in a consortia model.

This idea is from three years ago, but we have just stumbled on this same problem. We would also like to hide a service when there exists an electronic resource in the NZ.
