Add "search internal resources" option to MDE menu
Our Acquisition staff's workflow is to create brief records at the IZ level for donations etc., when we bring it into the MDE to search for an existing full-level record we are only given the option to "search external resources". We'd like to be able to search internal resources (NZ records) within the MDE (find matches is limited and does not work in most cases--we often discover after we've brought in a record that it did indeed exist in the NZ).

Arrow keys now 'stick' in fields in MDE
When navigating through records in MDE, if you've previously typed anything in a field, you now cannot move out of that field using the arrow keys. It's not entirely consistent and sometimes does let you move out the field, while other times it 'sticks' randomly in fields you haven't edited at all, but in general it is extraordinarily inconvenient.
I see using the arrow keys to move within a field was previously suggested as a feature, but even within that suggestion, the idea included the stipulation that if the cursor was already at the start/end of a line hitting up/down…

Implement Checks on the Authority Heading Type for Institutions Using ID-based Authority Control
Currently, when authority linking in Alma is based on ID rather than text, Alma does not check whether the authority heading type in the bibliographic record matches the heading type in the authority record. For example, Alma will link a 600 tag in the bib record for personal names with an authority record whose heading is in tag 110 for corporate names if their ID matches, even though Alma would not offer that option if F3 were pressed.
We would like Alma to (1) avoid linking in such cases and (2) flag these instances in the authority control task list.

Currently Alma does not allow local configuration for "electronic material types" and there are limited choices in Alma for "electronic materials types" that can not meet some specific needs of the local libraries. Therefore, the enhancement in Alma should be made to allow local configuration for "electronic material types."

MD editor: Release specific record(s) from another cataloger
Currently, the MD editor has an option to release ALL records from another cataloger. It would be ideal to have more granularity in choosing records to release. A common use case: Someone assigns a record to another cataloger but then realizes they should have edited something first. Rather than release all of the other cataloger's records (potentially catastrophic), it'd make sense to have the option to release the single record they need to edit.

Running Authorities-Preferred Term Correction job as a report
We would appreciate the ability to run the "Authorities-Preferred Term Correction" job as a report so we could see what changes it would make and then decide if we would want to run the job.

Add in the configuration the ability to make the search default of the authorities to be in CZ all the time.
Hello,
When searching in the authorities, Alma jumps from IZ to CZ and vice versa in different menus.
For institutions that do not maintain local authority file, it is frustrating that the search needs to be changed to CZ when Alma “decides” it should be in the IZ.
If there was a check box in the configuration that would enable us to choose that the search default in the authorities would be in the CZ all the time, it would be greatly appreciated.Thanks.

Can bib. records in traditional Chinese be transcribed into simplified Chinese in MDE by one click or by normalization rule? like what MS word can do.

Add parameter to keep bib records with digital contents while deleting inventory to Withdraw physical items job
Currently the Withdraw physical items job does not check for the presence of digital contents (or inventory), and there is not an option to delete the item and holdings records, while keeping the bib records with digital representations attached to. Please consider. Thank you!

Collect statistics about CZ Authorities records
We are looking for a way to collect statistics of GND authority records created by our Institution via Alma in the Community Zone.
This could be done via Analytics (for exemple by adding an CZ Authorities subject area) or another reporting tool.
Among other things, we would like to know which user has created or modified an authority record in the CZ.1 vote -
attachments tab for any item
Is it possible to have an attachment tab added at the physical item editor level? So that we can attach files for anything regardless of whether the item has a POL, or is in a collection.
For example, we have an old kit purchased prior to our alma migration, so we have no POL/invoice, nor is it in a local collection. So at present we have no way to attach a pdf copy of the guide that goes with the kit. Guides go missing all the time. We do keep a physical master, but it would be nice to just…

Ability to open links in metadata editor in a new window
The "Go to link" feature for URLs in the Metadata Editor should give the option to open the link in a new window.

Mouse cursor after save
In the Meta data editor after "save", the cursor goes to the LDR field. It would be nice if the cursor will go to the search of Alma.

Controlled Vocabulary: Deploy Changes the from Controlled Vocabulary Registry Screen
As a catalog administrator, I want to deploy controlled vocabulary changes from the controlled vocabulary registry screen with a deploy button so that don't lose time with navigating to another screen.
Currently, controlled vocabularies that are managed in the controlled vocabulary registry must be deployed in a separate step by going to Alma configuration > Resources > Metadata management > e.g. MARC21 Bibliographic > Deploy.

Controlled Vocabulary: Display locally managed controlled vocabularies in the Controlled Vocabulary Registry
As a metadata administrator, I want one place in the Alma configuration that shows me all controlled vocabularies so that I can view and modify them more easily.
Currently, locally managed controlled vocabularies (that are linked locally to just one specific field) aren't displayed in the controlled vocabulary registry. This makes it tedious to look them up, view and modify them. To do so, you currently have to go to the specific field and subfield in the metadata configuration. This costs a lot of clicks and feels tedious.

Merge rules: Make primary and secondary records configurable
For merge rules, it is currently fixed which of the two records involved is primary and secondary. However, for certain scenarios, it would be very handy to have the possibility to change that default configuration (a) as default for the specific rule, and (b) when applying the merge rule in the metadata editor. For example, if you want to use external search to enrich your record on the left pane with the record on the right pane. Ability to restore deleted authority records via Manage Deleted Repository
Currently deleted authority records cannot be recovered through Manage Deleted Repository. It would be useful if this option was available.
