Research Assistant: please allow to link external website for help pages
The current RA help page is built from the contents of code tables, but this doesn't give much flexibility in lay-out, to include images etc. Our question is that institutions also have the possibility to link to their own web pages for documentation and help.

User-defined favorite libraries that get preferential ranking in the Brief Display, the Get It section and Libraries facet
The idea is to introduce a new feature: "Favorite Libraries". In the Library Card, patrons could select their favorite library or libraries (regardless of the IZ to which they are affiliated to, in case of a consortium). Consequently, in the Brief Display, this choice influence the ranking of the records, in the GetIt section, the system first displays items from the selected favorite library(ies) on top. In the facet "libraries" where results are sorted by library, the system would display the favorite libraries on top, before other libraries.

please add pick up library in purchase request form for patron to choose if checking "reserve"
Hi, sir,
There is purchase request library in primo VE purchase request form.
But usually the request library is not same as user pick up library, if patron check "reserve", that mean once the purchase is accepted and book send to library ,alma will generate a reserve for this request.
but now has no patron's pick up library for reference.
so please add a pick up library filed in purchase request form if checking "reserve".

Show the date/time a question is asked in the AI research assistant, and in the copied result.
The date/time a question was asked is only visible when hovering over the question in the research history sidebar. This is a problem especially when working with history items that have multiple questions.
Scenario: User asks a question on something contemporary. They want to ask the same question in 3 months and then again in 6 months as more sources become available. From the history they open their previous question and use the "Try again" function. In another few weeks they do this again.
The question responses do not indicate when each iteration of the question was asked.

Include eBooks in Browse by Call Number Search
I would love to see eBooks (that have call numbers, of course) included in Browse by Call Number search results – or have a way to toggle their inclusion/exclusion in results. We spend a fortune on eBooks but they're excluded from this search. It seems many of our eBooks have a call number as they appear in the shelf carousel on item records.
A keyword search is enough to bring up resources for typical undergraduate assignments, but many faculty want their students to know about the information landscape of their area/field that call numbers provide. This is unquestionably important for…

Primo VE : Alignment of Unimarc normalization rules with Marc21 normalization rules for the creation of the author facet
The current OTB normalization rules for the creator/contributor facet in Primo VE differ between Marc21 and Unimarc records. Unimarc rules consider more elements than Marc21, leading to inconsistencies and duplicate facets for the same author.
For example, from personal name fields (fields 70#), Exlibris uses the entry element, the part of name, the qualifier, Roman numerals and dates (a, b, c, d, f) for “Personal name” responsibility statements. In Marc 21, only the entry element is retained (a).Key Issues:
…1- Duplicate Facets: Two facets are created for the same author, one based on Unimarc and the other on Marc21.73 votes -
Add support for custom repositories for citation styles
It's possible to manage and include additional citation style languages, which are stored in GitHub’s CSL Style Repository but they have a huge backlog to add new styles. It would be better if Ex Libris add support for custom repositories for citation styles.

Make alternative text for book covers and icons in results more meaningful
To improve accessibility for users of screen readers, please enhance the alternative text for images in Primo search results. In the brief results list, each image in the results has "Image 1", "Image 2", etc. as alt text. The cover in the full display has "Image" as the alt text. I saw in the Primo Accessibility Roadmap https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Product_Materials/Primo_Accessibility/Primo_Accessibility_Roadmap
that Alternative Text is a checkpoint on the road map (1.1.1.a), but Ex Libris Tech Support said that checkpoint does not include these images.3 votes -
Responsive label "item in place/not in place" for open shelf items
Our available items in open rack cannot be requested for local pickup but this is confusing for patrons as there is a physical request button (only for a Transit request - the Owning Library is missing as pickup location). Only for items NOT in place and items in STACKS, the Owning Library is an additional Pickup location.
As the option for local pickup for open shelf items depends on the availability and location (item in place/item not in place), we would like to change this label and add information about requestability and access to items (see image attached). But this…

opensearch description support in Primo VE
Primo supports opensearch description allowing a better integration with modern browser but this functionality is no longer support in Primo VE. It would be very useful for users to be able to continue to integrate the search engine with browser.

Add library location name and/or code to advanced search options
I'd like to submit for reconsideration an idea that was posted back in 2020 but which unfortunately didn't receive enough votes to be considered for future development at that time. My own library has only been using Primo VE since May 2024, so we didn't get a chance to vote for the original post.
The previous post is at:
The earlier post was limited to adding the library location name as an advanced search drop-down filter. I'm expanding it somewhat here as a request to add library location name and/or location code as filter options. This is something we…

Disable default search for related titles without direct links
It would be helpful to be able to deactivate the often-problematic default search Primo conducts whenever you click on a related title without a direct link to a corresponding record, since this search frequently returns irrelevant records.

pq access numbers for collection id 613170000000000058
Please add ProQuest access numbers for collection id 613170000000000058. When patrons find these records in Primo and create Resource Sharing requests, our RS team needs to spend too much time searching for the access numbers so that they can purchase copies of dissertations.
Thank you!

responded
Hello,
After consulting with the content support team, we have decided to re-open this idea and move it to the Primo forum. This change is necessary because presenting this field requires development work, and we currently do not have an appropriate place to display it.
Kind regards,
Tamar

Open Access Indicator for Unimarc records
Open Access Indication in Primo VE is currently supported for Marc21 and Dublin records : https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Product_Documentation/020Primo_VE/Primo_VE_(English)/030Primo_VE_User_Interface/Open_Access_Indication_in_Primo_VE

Add more than 7 lines – Advanced searches only include a maximum of seven search criteria lines
Could we have the capability to include more than seven lines in the advanced search function? In Summon, Web of Science and numerous other platforms, there is an unlimited possibility to select more lines.
Given that our users frequently search using both Danish and English keywords, the seven-line limit is often reached when both languages are used in an 'OR' search.8 votes -
Primo default language
When opening discovery, the language showed is the default one set in the Alma configuration. Many website today are capable to adapt the default language depending on the language set in the browser or the ip adress or other technologies.
The current idea propose to investigate and eventually apply the technologies that allows an automatic adjustment of the primo default language.1 vote -
Support for Numeric Subfields (e.g., $0, $1) in MARC to PNX Mapping in Primo VE
Currently, numeric subfields such as $0 and $1 are excluded from Primo VE’s standard MARC to PNX mapping. This prevents institutions from displaying and passing on crucial metadata, such as authority IDs, in/from the Primo VE UI.
Please map at least subfields $0 and $1 to PNX
This would greatly benefit libraries that rely on authority control and linked data, ensuring that identifiers like VIAF and GND IDs can be used for enhanced metadata display and linking within Primo VE as provided for by the MARC standard .Use Case Example:
A record with multiple subject headings (650 fields) includes…26 votes -

List of Stop Words in Catalan
Alma/Primo clients in Catalan cannot use the Full Text Indexing utility in Primo VE with all its functionality because there is no Stop Word List implemented in Catalan.
Because of this and the 10,000 terms limit per indexed file, the included PDFs are not fully indexed.
