Default 'Has Activity' instead of 'All Institutions' in My Library Card
The new ability to toggle between "All Institutions" and "Has Activity" in the My Library Card feature is helpful. It would be more helpful if the default were "Has Activity" instead of "All Institutions" (or if libraries could configure which of the two options they would like to be the default in their PrimoVE instance). Patrons need to know information about where their current loans originate from, and are not usually looking for a list of all the libraries they've ever borrowed from. Most do not even notice the ability to toggle between the two options, so the default should be the option that most patrons are looking to make use of.

Classification Authority Record Enrichment in Primo VE
In addition to the indexing of bibliographic metadata, Primo VE indexes preferred and non-preferred terms from 1XX and 4XX fields in related Alma authority records.
This is not the case for classification authority records. In the old Primo, it was possible to enrich bibliographic records with additional terms available in 7xx fields of the classification record. For instance:
153 ##$aE860$hUnited States$hLater twentieth century, 1961-$hNixon's administration, 1969-August 9, 1974$jWatergate Affair, 1972-

Physical items sort routine by date - enable I J K descending, but A B C ascending
Hi
We're running into a problem with the Physical items sort routine - Sort according to date. For journals, we want to sort the latest item on top, this works correctly with
Sort according to chronology I/U/K (year/month/day) - DescendingBUT
The same sort routine is also used for multi volume monographs.
We found out that if we only fill out conditions for Chronology I J K, but those fields are empty, the barcode gets used for sorting.
Which leads to wrong sorts. So we had to add
Enumeration A, B, C as a condition. This leads to a display where volume 1 is last in the list.
This is not what we want.It should be possible to sort A, B, C ascending, while I J K are sorted descending.
Thank you

Different URL:s in Resource Recommender depending on language
When adding resources to Resource Recommender you can only use one URL. We would like to have the option to enter different URL:s depending on which language you are using in Primo. All our web pages are translated to English but now we can only point to our pages in Swedish. This would be a great enhancement to all multi-lingual universities.

Facet "language" not working
The facet "language" in Primo is not working correctly. When I choose another language than german or english, e.g. italian, I got german or english titles whose authors have an italian background. This is not making any sense. Especially our chinese students expect titles in chinese when they use this facet. And as it is a global problem I think ExLibris has to find a solution. I checked with several Primo catalogues from other libraries:
e.g.

https://fu-berlin.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/primo_library/libweb/action/search.do?vid=FUB
https://library.wlu.ca/
http://primo.abdn.ac.uk:1701/primo_library/libweb/action/search.do (they obviously deactivated the language facet already while it is not working)

a.s.o.In all libraries I checked there is the same problem that the language facet is not working correctly. So I hope that other libraries will vote for this enhancement request as it is a fatal error in the facets functionality. And I think we should not accept this failure.

Hide digitization button when items of a title are on loan / unavailable
We would like to suggest the option to hide the digitzation button when all items of a title are on loan / unavailable.
Currently, titles can be requested for digitization while all items corresponding to a title are on loan or unavailable, which can result in significant waiting periods between requesting a title for digitization and the fulfillment of said request.
Therefore, we propose that the digitization button only appears when an item is available for the title in question. This would benefit patrons, since they can assume that if a request can be made, it will be processed right away.We would like to suggest the option to hide the digitzation button when all items of a title are on loan / unavailable.

Add target_url to DisplayCTO output
There is a feature in Primo VE to debug OpenURLs. You add to the OpenURL the parameter &displayCTO=true, e.g. https://uzb.swisscovery.slsp.ch/discovery/openurl?institution=41SLSP_UZB&vid=41SLSP_UZB:UZB&id=pmid:24881163&sid=Entrez:PubMed&displayCTO=true
Now you find between the metadata and the inventory a button "DISPLAY CTO". If you click there, you get an XML file with the metadata details that are available to Primo VE at the moment as well as data for the online services Primo VE will offer the user. However, one important information is missing: The target URL the service will link to is not displayed.
If you, however, use the debug URL of the Alma Link Resolver: https://slsp-uzb.alma.exlibrisgroup.com/view/uresolver/41SLSP_UZB/openurl?svc_dat=CTO&debug=true&debug=true&id=pmid:24881163&sid=Entrez:PubMed
You get in every service record a field <target_url>. There you find the exact URL that will be called, when the service is chosen.
This is crucial and should be added to the displayCTO feature in Primo VE.

Search Limiters for Accessibility Features
As a cataloger, I would like to propose a new option to filter search results for items with accessibility features (captions, audio descriptions, large print, etc). We are in the process of adding 041 subfields (mostly p and q), and 341 and 532 fields to our records in order to help users more easily identify items intended for those with hearing or visual disabilities. Ideally, this feature would utilize that input based on the presence of indicators in the 341 or 532 fields (i.e., 0 and 1) or controlled vocabulary terms to create search facets or indications (similar to the use of the 506 to indicate Open Access). Ultimately, our aim is to make access to our collection more inclusive, and this feature would go a long way towards achieving that goal.

Sorting of multiple copies according to item policy "available for loan"
Our library for medicine offers a large number of copies of some standard works. Some of them are not borrowable because they belong to the reference collection (item policy 63). Other copies have the item policy "available for loan, 1 day" (item policy 59) or "available for loan, 28 days" (item policy 01).
Example; https://slsp-network.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/41SLSP_UBE/hnud4r/alma99116892929105511In the details display (get it), the items that can be borrowed for 28 days are displayed last and are very difficult for users to find.
Ideally, the filter function should be adapted to contain the option "available for loan", so that patrons can choose the loan status themselves. If this ist not possilble, borrowable copies should be displayed first by default. This will enhance visibility and make it easier for patrons to find the items they want. Our library for medicine offers a large number of copies of some standard works. Add option to filter out Global title index results without any offer
When creating a scope that include CDI records non filtered per availability (Rapido-CDI expanded index), Global title index without any offer (no Get it section, no view online section and no item available in the Rapido tile) are retrieved (example). These records are owned by libraries participating in any POD (outside of ours) of Rapido.
We would like to have an option to exclude the Global title index results without an offer.

Second sort in facets
Currently, Primo shows the items in the facets (e.g. the subjects facet) either sorted alphabetically or by the number of items.
However, it seems to order the items randomly when the number of items is identical for several different subject heading in the facet.
It would be beneficial to be able to configure a secondary sort option for these items (for example when using a multilingual subject heading system - to present the same subject in both language one after the other).83 votes -
Increase the number of local fields for search and facets
If the library has many specialized and local fields it should be possible to improve the user search without the build-in restriction of 10 locally defined fields. There should not be a limit to use of local fields.

Add 245 subfield c to Primo display
Please add the 245 subfield c to the display in Primo. It does display in Alma. In the example below, you are not able to determine the author/creator's responsibility for the work - Author vs. forward vs. photographer.
We would love to have more granularity in general for what fields/subfields display in Primo for our specific institution.
Thank you!

Add "Locate" link to Primo Analytics
We would like to find out how often users are clicking on the Locate item within the Primo VE record to view the map where the item is located; this is the label nui.locations.locate in the ViewIt table. Ex Libris support has confirmed that this link currently cannot be tracked in Primo Analytics because there is not a beacon call associated with the link. We would like to request that the Locate link be added to Primo Analytics tracking.

Discovery collections handling
When creating or updating an Alma collection (adding/removing titles), the change is not automatically reflected in the Discovery Collections and it is necessary to trigger the reindexing for a correct display.
This workflow is problematic when titles are removed: records are taken out from a collection but are still present in Primo VE because a reindexing is needed. They can no longer be found by searching for the collection in Alma. Depending on the collection, it might also not be possible to find them all via a single search and it might be necessary to manually add the records to a set by comparing the collections in Alma and Primo. In these cases, it is extremely cumbersome to properly remove records from a collection. When creating or updating an Alma collection (adding/removing titles), the change is not automatically reflected in the Discovery Collections and it is necessary to trigger the reindexing for a correct display.

Set default encoding level for Export RIS in New UI
In the New Primo User Interface the Export RIS functionality requires users to select an encoding level.
In the classic UI UTF-8 was selected by default.
Can the default encoding level please be an option in the New UI.
Many of our users are confused by which encoding level to select, and we would like to present them with a default option selected to help ease the confusion.81 votes -
Analytics - advanced search stastistics
Hi there,
According to SF case 422111 it's currently not possible to provide detailed statistics about advanced search field through OBI.
As for the facets, we would like to know the number of using field by field.
For example :
- We would like to know how many clicks were done on search field "Topic"
- We would like to know how many clicks were done on search field "Author"
- We would like to know in how many session the search field document type / books was used
- Which are the fields the most used in the advanced search, which are the less used ?Those statistics would help us to improve our configuration according to patrons' needs.
Thanks for support !
Ariane

• Records without a date at the bottom of results list when sorting on date oldest
At this moment, the sort option “Date oldest” displays the records without a date on top of the results list. This is confusing and not relevant for users; when there are several records without a Creation Date they probably conclude that sorting on date oldest doesn’t work. Our request is to display the records without a date always at the bottom of the results list when a sort option on date is used (thus as well for date oldest as for date newest)
80 votesHi all,
This is to update that this is currently not planned to be developed. We might evaluate it again in the future.
Therefore we are removing the "Under review" status for now.
Best regards,
