Primo VE: Please add 773x to the index on ISSN
When searching on ISSN in Primo, not only journals are found, but also articles because articles in CDI have a data field ISSN.
This is not the case for locally catalogued articles because following the MARC standard, the ISSN of the journal is catalogued in tag 773$x.
Not only are locally catalogued articles not found when searching on ISSN, but also the facet on Journal title doesn't work for these local articles.
Therefor, our question is to add tag 773$x to the index on ISSN to allow for a consistent search experience for local articles and CDI articles.104 votes -
New books link in Primo home page
We would love seeing in the Primo home page link to new books added to the collection. after developing the new book facet it'll be easier to implement this feature using the data added to the PNX.

Primo Central Index ( PCI ) - more granularity in excluding content from activated resources - e.g. exclude from index by resource type
Right now in Primo Central Index the customer can either activate or not a resource. But sometimes more granularity would be appreciated. Namely adding a filter by resource type allowing inclusion or exclusion in the index would be very useful. Please note: it's not a matter of adding a resource type in PCI. It's a matter of excluding records with a specific resource type from activated resources.
For example, some resources/data sources contains not only articles, but also journals and other resource types we actually catalogue. Since right now dedup does not work between local records and PCI, this ends up leading to a lot of duplicated entries in the search results (1 for the journal in the catalogue + 1 for the same journal in PCI).
Allowing us to exclude Journals from PCI, thus having only articles, would greatly reduce noise and bias in the search results.Right now in Primo Central Index the customer can either activate or not a resource. More DEDUP keys
The implementation of the FRBR keys is affected by the DEDUP keys, so it would be desirable to add a new key in the DEDUP keys that includes the label 250.

Translate coverage and licence labels for NZ full text services in IZ views
PrimoVEs in our network use 4 languages for the user interface - English, German, French and Italian.
Consortial and Open Access e-resources are activated in the Network Zone for all the IZs.
When viewing Full-text services from NZ in the detailed view in IZs, the coverage and license labels are not translated to the language of the user UI.
The absence of translation creates discrepancy for our users. The IZ FT services' labels are translated but the NZ services are always in English.101 votes -
Improve RTA Holdings status information for checked out / unavailable items for Alma consortiums
For Alma / Primo customers in a consortial resource sharing network, when an item in an institutional view is checked out, in the brief results display, an RTA availability statement is replaced with a "Check Holdings" link. Upon clicking on the title and viewing the full display of the record, RTA is checked for all institutions, including the institution of the view the user is in, updating the RTA status. When the user clicks out of the full record, the correct status (e.g., Checked Out) displays in the RTA section of the brief record in the results list.
Users should be able to see, in their institutional view, that an item is checked out without having to "check holdings" and load the RTA for all institutions. RTA should be accurate even for checked out items when the brief results display loads after each search.

Alerts in a consortium with NZ: send alerts for records added to the inventory of the institution of the user
The alert functionality is not really functional in a library network with a Network Zone. Users get an alert when a new bibliographic record is created in the Network Zone, but most users don't care about new acquisitions in other institutions. What they want is to be alerted on new acquisitions in their own institution. This means: to get an alert when a new bibrecord is added to the inventory of of their IZ (not only by creating a new record but also by adding a holding or portfolio to an existing record in the NZ).

Include available NZ e-inventory within IZ Alma/Primo VE browse indexes
For consortia with Network Zones, the centralized management of electronic resources is an integral function of the NZ. However, the Alma Browse Bibliographic Headings functionality used for the Primo VE Browse Search indexes omits e-resources available to an institution via the NZ.
Within the Metadata Editor, staff can select either 'Institution' or 'Network' when using the Browse Bibliographic Headings function. Selecting 'Institution' includes records from the IZ level, which omits anything where electronic access has been distributed to that institution from the NZ. Selecting 'Network' includes all records from the NZ level, regardless of the institution's physical holdings or electronic access.
The Primo VE Browse Search uses the Alma Browse Bibliographic Headings 'Institution'-level index. As a result, our end users (students, faculty, reference librarians, etc.) who browse headings are not viewing the complete set of resources available. This is a particular problem for ebooks, as there are several large collections from major publishers/platforms (Oxford, JSTOR) that are managed in the NZ on our behalf by our consortium.
We want a setting in between the two existing options, which would include all IZ records AND the NZ records "Available for" the institution, and which would be used for the Primo VE Browse Search. This setting would allow staff to review the headings of all pertinent records, physical and electronic, within Browse Bibliographic Headings, and enable end users to access the same set of resources from the Primo VE Browse Search.
An example of the gap for our end users:
An advanced search for the same "Jewish wit and humor History and criticism" subject yields 18 results: https://wrlc-gu.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?query=sub,exact,%22Jewish%20wit%20and%20humor%20History%20and%20criticism%22,AND&tab=LibraryCatalog&search_scope=MyInstitution&sortby=rank&vid=01WRLC_GUNIV:01WRLC_GUNIV&lang=en&mode=advanced&offset=0
The two 'extra' results in the search by subject are ebooks from NZ JSTOR collections.

Browse by physical location in Primo
In Primo, it is not currently possible to browse by physical location & in our previous system, we were able to do so. For instance, from http://primo.rollins.edu/primo_library/libweb/action/search.do?fn=showBrowse&mode=BrowseSearch&vid=01RC&tab=books_tab&dscnt=0&dstmp=1467208388734 we would like to have the option to browse by one of our locations, for instance For example, I would like to see what titles we have in Rare Special or Rare Florida Collections, but I do not see from the browse menu.
we would like to be able to somehow browse by a given physical location in Primo without doing a keyword or title search for a particular item.

Enable retrieval with/without/compound hyphens in Hebrew

Combining searches from search history into a new search

We couldn't link a digital object to a reading list from our repository (DSpace).
We found it very interesting that PRIMO could link a digital object from our DSpace repository to a reading list.
Currently, this is only possible if we add the citation to the repository in ALMA and it is generating repeated references (since it collects our DSpace).
It would be desirable that Primo to be able to view citations from reading lists that are not in the Alma repository.94 votesWe’d appreciate if you can provide examples and explain more on the workflow for this idea

EZProxy (Primo institution wizard) more granular application against specific collections
Currently in Primo institution wizard (Primo Home > Ongoing Configuration Wizards > Institution Wizard > Delivery Base URLs) you can enter an EZProxy base URL. If a proxy is added it will be applied to all Link in Record type resources (though there is the option to exclude OA collections). I would like more granularity so that we could choose to apply the proxy to certain Link in Record type collections, but not to apply the proxy to others.

Make the New Primo UI more CSS friendly
While the new Primo interface gave us more power to extend functionality via JavaScript it does not do the same for modifications via CSS due to the lack of properly marked up content.
In some parts of the New UI the content is well described, often with custom HTML elements, but there are also many places, often in the higher levels in the DOM tree, where better described selectors (preferably through classes) are needed.
For example, there is currently no selector that show the current system that is being displayed. The <prm-explore>-element could have the current system being shown as a class (search, fulldisplay, openurl, jsearch, account, login etc).
In the search results the <div.list-item-wrapper> element is used on the parent level. Here the markup would be greatly improved by adding the media-type such as article, book, text_resource etc. Allowing us to style based on media-type.
It's the same with facets. There's currently no way to target a specific Facet Group with CSS. The first real identifying selector is on the span[translate="facets.facet.facet_XXX"] that is several children down. Having this as a class or other attribute on either the repeating parent <div> or the <prm-facet-group> would help.
In My Account the <md-tab-content> could use the same treatment. Here the section could be added as an attribute, e.g. overview, fines, blocks_messages etc.
These are just a few examples where better selectors would be helpful. The best would be if the entire UI got the treatment with better selectors and modifications via CSS in mind. While JavaScript is powerful it is not the correct tool for everything.

Make the PIN code field in Primo My Account a secure text field with eye icon to show/hide the PIN
As a user, I would like to have the possibility to hide the values I have entered in the Pincode field (Update Login Credentials in My Account > Personal Settings) so that the data isn't visible to others. In order to check for typos, I would like to have the possibility to display the data (e.g. by clicking on an eye symbol)

Adding 'Issue' as a new resource type in Primo Central
Resource types used in Primo Central are limited to 23 (book, article, journal, image...) [See pdf "Primo Central Index Resource Types" in the Documentation Center].
For digitized journal issues, the type in use is 'journal'. Archive collections like HathiTrust may contain tens of thousands of digitized journal issues; institutional repositories may also contain complete issues… This is finally confusing for end-users for who see issues labelled as journals and for whom filtering by resource type has become useless.
Adding a 24th type 'Issue' for this material would be welcome! ‘Journal’ would thus only remain for real journal records.

Default 'Has Activity' instead of 'All Institutions' in My Library Card
The new ability to toggle between "All Institutions" and "Has Activity" in the My Library Card feature is helpful. It would be more helpful if the default were "Has Activity" instead of "All Institutions" (or if libraries could configure which of the two options they would like to be the default in their PrimoVE instance). Patrons need to know information about where their current loans originate from, and are not usually looking for a list of all the libraries they've ever borrowed from. Most do not even notice the ability to toggle between the two options, so the default should be the option that most patrons are looking to make use of.
