Allow deduping between MARC and DC records with non-filing characters in title
It is currently not possible to dedup MARC and Dublin Core records if the title field contains non-filing characters.
Primo VE can perform deduplication between MARC records in Alma and DC records that are ingested via discovery import profiles. However, the dedup title keys that are generated for MARC records take into account if the title has non-filing characters (such as initial articles), as indicated in the 245 second indicator. It is not possible to indicate non-filing characters for DC records. Therefore, records that would otherwise be matches for deduplication have different titles.
For example, a record with the title…

Resource Recommender Banner: allow multiple, randomised Banners
We find the Resource Recommender Banner in Primo VE incredible useful for promoting exhibitions, programs and other library events, but the click through rate on the Banner is extremely low.
One of the reasons for this, I suspect, is the static nature of the banner - once activated, the same image appears every time a search is conducted and it quickly just becomes "noise" on the catalogue that is either ignored or dismissed.
We'd like to see this feature further developed to allow for multiple banners to be active at once (say, up to 5) and then have a different,…

Person Entity – Option to hide or suppress the Person Page and Person Info Card at the individual level
We propose adding the option to allow institutions to hide or suppress the Person Page and Person Info Card at the individual level.
We've received complaints that some person entities display incorrect information on their pages. As updating information directly at the data source (Library of Congress, Wikidata, or Wikipedia) is neither sustainable nor predictable in terms of when data changes will be reflected, we propose providing an option for institutions to exclude specific person entities from being displayed in Primo.
Justification:
1. Updating Wikidata and other data sources entries directly is not a sustainable solution and is not predictable…8 votes -
Add more than 7 lines – Advanced searches only include a maximum of seven search criteria lines
Could we have the capability to include more than seven lines in the advanced search function? In Summon, Web of Science and numerous other platforms, there is an unlimited possibility to select more lines.
Given that our users frequently search using both Danish and English keywords, the seven-line limit is often reached when both languages are used in an 'OR' search.8 votes -
Primo VE customize logo tooltip/description
Allow tooltip/description text to be added to the uploaded logo in the Primo VE view customization, similar to the "Links Menu" customization description.
This is a basic usability feature that should be easy to configure.
Our usability testing showed that about half the users expected the logo to go back to the main Primo VE search landing page rather than the library's home page (as many libraries have configured). Having a description on hovering would help clarify for users.8 votes -
Support a grouping for non-alphanumeric titles in AZ list
For the "Support AZ List in Database and Journal Searches" in 2025 May release, please add back the link to group non-alphanumeric titles. In the old Primo, if I remember correctly, there was a "#" link in which I can see all non-alphanumeric titles, e.g. starting with Chinese characters.
Thank you.

Add Due Date to Real Time Availability Status in Brief Records
We would like to be able to see the status messages to include Due Dates, where applicable.
Example: add date to Not available - Loan message, something along the lines of Not available - Checked out until {date}.8 votes -
Add double dashes to subject heading displays between subdivisions
The standard display of subject headings, as seen in the Library of Congress, is to place double dashes between their subdivisions. So "$a Germany $x Politics and government $y 19th century" would be displayed as "Germany--Politics and government--19th century." However, Primo VE only places the subdivisions together without distinction, resulting in "Germany Politics and government 19th century." This is is less visually clear to users and isn't consistent with standard practice; it should be a simple matter for Primo VE to place double dashes where a subfield indicator belongs.

Allow Bibtex information to be copied and pasted rather than only downloaded
Currently, Primo requires that users download Bibtex and other citation data to their computers, and then upload or copy it from a document. This takes up valuable memory. Google Scholar has a feature that allows you to copy and paste the Bibtex citation directly from the browser rather than needing to download it, saving space and the hassle of saving and uploading a list of resources to their computers. Could a similar functionality be created for Primo VE where Bibtex information can be copied and pasted rather than just downloaded?

Add the creation date to the titles in the Saved Search Letter
Users can set an alert on the Saved Searches page and will then receive the Saved Search letter by email whenever there are new results for their saved search. However, a new result is not necessarily a new publication. The Saved Search letter could also contain older publications which are new to the inventory of the discovery system. For the users, it would be helpful to already see in the Saved Search letter the creation date of the titles, so that they know which results are real new publications. In Primo VE, however, it is currently not possible to add…

Enable Quicklinks on a Provider-by-Provider Basis
We would like to be able to enable QuickLinks links on a per-provider basis.
We would like more control over which providers QuickLinks operates again, both for testing and link accuracy reasons.
When we find a provider for which QuickLinks do not work well, we have no workaround other than disabling QuickLinks completely. This negatively affects our users, because QuickLinks may be working well for resources from other Providers.
We would also like be to be able to test QuickLinks with new providers, prior to having QuickLinks attempt to link to the new provider's resources.

Resource Recommender by user group or campus
Resource Recommender in Primo VE can only show suggestions based on search tags or “Display Always.”
There’s no way to show recommendations based on who the user is — for example, their user group, campus, or department.
This means libraries can’t personalize results - such as:
Business students see business databasesThis would make the discovery experience more relevant and user-friendly.

Improve Browse with 505 $$t subfield
Ex Libris technicians report that currently only the first occurrence of 505 $t is included in the Title index. As a result, if you Browse by a title listed further within the 505, the results don't supply a matching record. All $$t subfields in the 505 (and any other fields recording titles) should be included in the Title index to avoid this issue.

Filter for which record types, local or community zone, you want to generate the hypertext.
When working with Community Zone records, we see that linking tags, such as 776, appear in Primo in the Related Titles option, and the resource it links to does not return any results. If we deactivate the hypertext link for related titles, the links that were from our records and that are correct would also be affected. We suggest that you can somehow filter for which record types, local or community zone, you want to generate the hypertext.

Primo May 2022 Release: Display Multiple Links in View It
This feature offers the possibility to show more fulltext links in three sections:
(1) CDI "Subscription" links
(2) Alma iframe with Alma portfolio links
(3) CDI "Open Access" linksHowever, currently it is not possible to configure the display of these sections.
Please think about the following improvements:
Possibility to display all link sections automatically instead of only showing the first link section and a "Show more" option for the other sections (see attachement).
Possibility to decide to display both new link sections (additional CDI "Subscription" links, additional CDI "Open Access" links) or only one of them.

Improvement of the Calculate queue button on request forms
In July 2020 a new button for calculating the patron’s place in queue when requesting a physical title was introduced. The function was a welcome attempt to make it clearer to the patron how long he/she might have to wait to get the book, but with the current design we find it more confusing than helpful. The function does not take into account if any items are available in the library or if all items are on loan to other patrons.
When a user places a request on a title that is available in the library the current message is…

Signed in user should be able to set their preferred search profile
We have decided to place the Library catalog search profile first in the search box as this is what most of our users need. However, some of our users find this irritating and request for the All or International articles option to be put first. This is obviously a choice that's always going to make somebody unhappy!
To get around this issue, we suggest that a signed-in user should be able to set their own preferences as to which search profile comes first in the search box.

Advanced Search option in Collection Discovery for Alma-D
Primo's public Collection Discovery pages currently lack the ability to run advanced searches. As a result, only keyword searches are possible at either the collection or sub-collection level, which prevents users from being able to limit or refine searches by necessary fields like Date, Creator, etc. This means that users have to browse collections, sub-collections, and items more broadly than is often helpful when an advanced search would be more likely to bring them immediately relevant results. Primo's Advanced Search for regular discovery is a valuable tool that should also appear in Alma-D's Collection Discovery.

Make ILL requests a Send To action in Primo records
Add ILL Request to the cluster of Send to actions in the Primo record full display. This would send the citation to the institution's ILL form so a user could place a request for an item. This feature would give institutions the option of providing ILL services as a constant in records instead of being facilitated through services tweaked through a series of display logic rules which don't always produce desired results. For example, sometimes CDI records match to print serial holdings that don't actually contain the article. Sometimes the online source is missing the item or malfunctioning. With the…
