book reviews- link to book
Book reviews can be useful, but frustrating for the patron. I would like to see the actual book info linked from the review, so the patron can request a purchase or ILL easily.

Create/add in the ability to show and filter ALL content by place of publication and other data point relevant for decolonising collections
With linked data being such a big part of what has being talked about so far in relation to NDE and AI being used in some new projects such as Primo:Research Assistant, we feel that it's the best time to think about using this data and the data in the CDI records to try and develop tools to identifying, show, filter place of publication or nationality of authors.
We have developed our own facet using local fields, regular expressions and information in the MARC 008 to display the place of publication for items in our collection and filter by facet…

Add Search within "Journals by Category" results
Journals by Category is less useful since each category could have hundreds of results. For example, searching by the category "Psychology" produces 623 journals. EDS' journal search allows you to search within that category--so in this case, you'd be able to search a specific topic among only the 623 psychology journals identified. We have professors who require students to find ten articles in Economics/Accounting journals that are published in the USA. A search within the category Economics journals for a topic, and perhaps even the location facet, would help these students out!

Set default of language in vocie search
When in voice search using customized languages (not UI supported languages because it influences the language options in My Account) it is not possible to set a default language: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Product_Documentation/020Primo_VE/Primo_VE_(English)/050Display_Configuration/010Configuring_Discovery_Views_for_Primo_VE#Defining_a_View
I suggest it should be possible to set the default language of Voice Search (as once was possible in earlier versions of VE)5 votes -
Newest Edition Flag in Primo
Similar to the Newest Edition flag in Rialto search results, having an indicator in Primo which shows the user which edition of the book is the most recently published/newest edition. Picture included of the Rialto example.

Add 'Review articles' as an option for the Resource Type Filter Bar
Currently, the only option we can set is 'Reviews' for the Resource Type Filter Bar, but that is not the same as 'Review articles', which are a CDI document attribute used as a facet, as described here:

Improve call number Browse search
To improve the user experience in Primo VE, we propose modifying the call number browsing feature to show a few call numbers both before and after the searched call number, providing better context and making it easier to locate desired items.

Add library location name and/or code to advanced search options
I'd like to submit for reconsideration an idea that was posted back in 2020 but which unfortunately didn't receive enough votes to be considered for future development at that time. My own library has only been using Primo VE since May 2024, so we didn't get a chance to vote for the original post.
The previous post is at:
The earlier post was limited to adding the library location name as an advanced search drop-down filter. I'm expanding it somewhat here as a request to add library location name and/or location code as filter options. This is something we…

Research Assistant: please allow to link external website for help pages
The current RA help page is built from the contents of code tables, but this doesn't give much flexibility in lay-out, to include images etc. Our question is that institutions also have the possibility to link to their own web pages for documentation and help.

Person entity - add an expandable text option that can be customized by institution
Add an option to add explanatory text to the Person Info Card and Person Page, so that institutions can provide users with more details about these features in the interface. Transparency around the data presented by libraries in discovery interfaces is increasingly important with the proliferation of ai-generated content and users' understandable lack of trust.

Person entity - add an option for users to request more information about a person
Many Person Info Cards have little/no information. An option for users to request more information about a person would give user communities agency to prioritize authority work by information professionals.

Allow Digital Viewer to use different View than Primo
When viewing digital representations in the Digital Viewer, Alma-D uses the same Primo VE View; however, this can cause some difficulties when configurations ideal for Primo don't translate well to the Viewer.
For example, we have a pop-up chat icon in Primo VE for patrons to chat with librarians; because this is configured in View, it's also present in the Digital Viewer, but the icon ends up obscuring parts of the representation's image and metadata.
We'd like to be able to point the Digital Viewer to a different View entirely than the one Primo VE is currently using.

FRBR/Dedup reports and overviews
Experimenting with FRBR/Dedup currently requires finding ad hoc examples of records that might be frbrized or deduped. This complicates the administration of this feature as it is not possible to get an overview which records might be affected by some kind of setting.
It would be very helpful of it would possible in some way to get an overview of:
- Which records have any type of deduping
- Which records have any type of FRBR-ization
- Which records have been suppressed from FRBR/Dedup
Currently this is only possible to check on a record by record basis. The backend could improve by, for…

Separate display configuration for names in Primo
To configure the order in which a user's first name and last name display in Primo VE (which displays as initials in the top right corner of the screen of NDE) we need to configure the Alma User Details settings. However, in Alma it is easier for us to work with names ordered 'last name, first name' however in Primo we need to order user names 'first name last name' for their initials to show correctly.
Please provide Primo VE with its own configuration settings for the display of a user's name.

PrimoVE should allow disabling of Aggregator Content Data
Improving OpenAIRE Links in PrimoVE: A Customization Proposal
Many of the OpenAIRE links in our system are currently unreliable. To address this issue, we propose the following enhancements:
1) Aggregator Content Data Class: We recommend introducing an aggregator class specifically
for Aggregator Content Data in the code. This class would allow us to apply custom styling
and control the display of OpenAIRE links.2) CSS Customization: If we had a dedicated <span class="OpenAIRE">, we could easily add CSS
rules to hide OpenAIRE links. Currently, we lack this flexibility, and our users are
inundated with potentially unreliable links. Other Contenre Data…4 votes

Hello,
We have made some adjustments for the OpenAIRE records on the content side, you can read more in this Knowledge Article:
The other options you have mentioned may be addressed in the Primo Product side - I have moved this idea to the Primo Idea Exchange for the Product team to review.
Kind regards,

Reverse the order of Available in Library / Available Online on full record display
We are new to Primo so pardon if this idea already exists. My public services colleagues would like to see "Available Online" appear before Physical Availability in the brief record information on the top of the full record display. We can move the View it service section higher in the page but we can't flip these two links.

Include item copy id in OpenURL
We use OpenURL to pass request information from Primo VE to Aeon. Currently OpenURL cannot include item copy id (see case 06436874).
Item copy id is "used to identify individual copies of the same title when multiple copies exist at the same location".
This is important for our special collections libraries, because they often have multiple unique copies. For example, copy 2 may have annotations by the author and thus have specific importance to researchers, compared with copy 1 which is not annotated.

Make persistent search history opt-in instead of opt-out
Make Persistent search history an opt-in instead of opt-out when enabled by a library.
If a library enables the persistent search history in Primo VE, the feature is automatically turned on for all patron records. It would be helpful if patrons who would like to use the persistent search history feature could choose to opt-in to it instead of requiring users to opt-out of it.

request
Place "request" link (i.e. physical item request) against availability locations as opposed one "request" link that currently appears against the whole availability section of a search result in PrimoVE. As Alma expects items from the same location to behave in the same manner, surely physical item availability in PrimoVE should opperate in the same way - here the "request" link should only appear against a location where all items are on loan and not against the full availability for all locations where physical items may be on the shelf and where a Library may not want "on shelf" requesting. The…
