Add a pre-filter for Peer-reviewed Journals
Our students would like the option to pre-filter their searches to articles published in Peer-reviewed journals. The current Primo configuration only allows this filter as a refining facet after searching.

Improve the search for non-preferred terms
The search of a non-preferred term works correctly with standard indexes.
Non-preferred terms are currently indexed in the creator, title and subject fields but they are not additionally indexed in a local search field.
For example the advanced search of a non-preferred term doesn't work when a local search field is chosen. The search for non-preferred terms should be also enabled for local fields

OpenURL resolving - BaseURL configurable for extension to consortial network
If an OpenURL request comes from external to Primo VE, then only the inventory in the IZ is considered and there is no possibility to extend the request to the physical inventory of the corresponding consortial network.
Suggestion for an enhancement: the BaseURL for OpenURL-request should be configurable in a way that the argument "consortial network" can be included in the request [i.e. with the configuration it can be decided whether only
a.) the inventory of the IZ (or Campus)
OR
b.) also the physical inventory of all libraries of the consortial network should be displayed (i.e. analogous to "search_scope")”51 votes -
Allow libraries to review PCI metadata in collections
We would like the ability to not only see more information about the collections (which is already another idea on here) but also the ability to see the metadata for each collection. For example, for Kanopy, we have loaded the MARC records into Alma, but would like to review what the metadata for the PCI collection looks like so we can make a decision about whether or not to enable it. We have no way to know what the PCI collection will add or do until we turn it on in production Primo.

Combine permalinks with citations in Primo
In Primo, the ability to copy citations is very useful, as is the ability to copy permalinks for individual records. When helping a patron via virtual reference (chat or email), it is cumbersome to, first, open and copy the citation, and second, open copy the permalink. It would make more sense to either hyperlink the citation with a stable link, or include the permalink after the citation in the same window.

Consortia environment: inheritance for open access collections
Open access collections that are activated in the NZ are not inherited by the IZs.
Given the number of open access collections and the possible number of IZs, it can be a tedious task to activate a large number of OA collections for each IZ.
We would like to see that OA collections can be inherited just like regular subscription collections.

Hierarchical labels for sub-collections in Collections hierarchy
When browsing the Collections hierarchy there is a separate label for top level collections and for sub-collections (at whatever level). We would like to be able to have separate labels according to values contained in the bib records. This would allow the different levels of a complex sub-collection hiearchy to be expressed appropriately: e.g. it would allow us to reflect transparently the structure of our archival collections: Collection - Series - File - Item. it could also allow the hierarchy of different types of collections to be expressed differentially.

Label distribution per row
In consortial environment there is the option to distibute labels from the Network to the Institutions. At the moment the distribution is only possible per table. In case a table is updated by functionality, the distribution deletes the displayed labels.
We would like to have the option to distribute labels per row: this would give the possibility to the Institutions to receive the updates from the Network avoiding overwriting issues and increase the possibility to distribute a label in case a table has been customized locally.48 votes -
Add Shibboleth/SSO functionality to CDI "Link in Record" links
Statista recently announced that they are ending IP authentication on Dec. 31, 2025. https://www.statista.com/site/IP-Access
All of the CDI records for Statista are "Link in Record" links that rely on a proxy prefix. There is currently no way to configure settings for Shibboleth (or any other SSO client like OpenAthens) to make these types of links work. Please add this functionality, so we are all prepared if more vendors start moving in this direction. As it stands, we will have to deactivate the Statista collection at the end of the year if no new functionality is released. Thanks!

Add option to view complete authority records in Primo
Primo does not show the complete authority record. In Aleph the end user could see the authority record through the link from Primo to the OPAC. As ALMA has no such option the end user has no way of seeing the complete authority record with all the RDA fields. If the complete authority record is displayed, not only some of the fields, the end user can find important information about the author with one click.

Display and edit all user addresses in my account
By now, only the preferred address defined in Alma is displayed in Primo my account. All Alma user addresses should be displayed and be editable by patrons in my account of Primo. This is important for better transparency and to avoid invalid and deprecated addresses. It should also be possible to chooses the Address types in my Primo account to preferred, secondary, work and office.

Fix Defect: Advanced Search date filter
The date filter only works for year (not day or month) in the advanced search for Primo Central records.
This is a known issue with searches for Primo Central records. Primo Central searches on the creationdate field, which doesn't have a month/day, only year. Therefore, if you use the Advanced Search Start Date/End Date fields, the results will include Primo Central items outside of the month/day range.
Please fix this defect to allow searching on day, month, and year.

Allow us to collapse like locations for a library using mapping table like classic
In classic Primo we would able to collapse like locations for a library using a mapping table. For example we have some very large buildings and for logistics we have locations like Stacks 3rd floor and Stacks 4th floor. In the facets it would be nice to just have Stacks be grouped all together. This also allows us to create custom pre-filter for our libguides.

Quotation marks: align the behavior of Alma and CDI records
When using quotation marks in a search, Alma and CDI records behave differently:
CDI records:
« » → not considered for the search
„ “ → considered for the search only for some languages
“ ” → considered for the search only for some languages
" " → considered for the searchFor local records:
« » → not considered for the search
„ “ → not considered for the search
“ ” → not considered for the search
" " → considered for the searchWith this idea exchange we propose to align the behavior of Alma and CDI…

Create option within Entire Network Inventory to display All Physical Inventory (regardless of availability)
This concerns Custom Local Data Scopes. Currently, the only physical option within Entire Network Inventory is to display Available Physical. This means that when there is a physical item that only we hold within our consortium, but is out on loan, that we cannot see our own item in PrimoVE. And for this reason, we also cannot order the item via interlibrary loan – because there is no record. Further, the record will exist in other catalogs (e.g., WorldCat), but when the user clicks on our institution from those other catalogs, it results in a dead-end loop for the user.…

“My Favorites” pin should indicate number of records in favorites
In the Primo New UI, there is the “my favorites” pin icon at the top right of the screen (screenshot below of the pin). We ran some usability surveys and found that users would like an indication, via the icon, that something is there. Like the number if pinned items and/or a different color indicating that something is there.

Virtual Browse display problem.
In PrimoVE, we found virtual browse can't display fully list, it will cut pre-book and last book.
Can it be possible to be customized in Alma?45 votes -
Customize the "View full text in collection" label in CDI
Primo VE shall allow the library to customize the "View full text in collection" label in full record display page under view it section. There are different kinds of "link text" displayed in CDI mode which makes our users very confused.

"Title starts with" advanced search should search alternate titles, too
The "Title starts with" advanced search in Primo and Primo VE only searches the 245 field, not the 246. This is problematic in cases where a title contains special characters, numbers, etc. For instance, if a user is doing a "Title starts with" search for a book called "Understanding & Dismantling Racism," they would need to use the ampersand rather than spelling out "and" in order to find the book. This is in spite of the fact that the bibliographic record for that book contains a 246 field with the "and" spelled out. One of the points of the 246…
