"Title starts with" advanced search should search alternate titles, too
The "Title starts with" advanced search in Primo and Primo VE only searches the 245 field, not the 246. This is problematic in cases where a title contains special characters, numbers, etc. For instance, if a user is doing a "Title starts with" search for a book called "Understanding & Dismantling Racism," they would need to use the ampersand rather than spelling out "and" in order to find the book. This is in spite of the fact that the bibliographic record for that book contains a 246 field with the "and" spelled out. One of the points of the 246 field is to prevent situations like this and to allow users to find the book whether they type "&" or "and," Therefore, if that field is not fully functional in an advanced search, that is detrimental to users. See https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Knowledge_Articles/%22Starts_with%22_search_for_alternate_title_returns_no_results for more information.
