  1. Share on social media: add Mastodon and Bluesky

Share on social media from full title display:

Please add Mastodon and Bluesky as options.

Can't speak for Threads as that's blocked in Europe, but would probably make sense to add it at the same time.

  2. Influence the algorithm in the display format for hits on large broad subject searches where local repository records appear.

In our library we have decided that Primo should also display records from a local repository. This is a database of references to research publications produced by our researchers at our university. It is not always the case that we have electronic access to the titles in this local database. And it's not always the case that we own the physical works.
So we would like to have the titles in our catalogue, but we are well aware that at best they are reference titles that have to be obtained/borrowed.
We are planning to display more local repositories through our…

  3. Being able to choose "emailing and printing exporting actions" fields

The print and export options are currently limited.
It would be a lot of help if we could choose the fields that are being exported to excel (or at least add the location field there), and which are being printed. Currently, in the print version there a lot of fields (all of the get it fields) and it takes a lot of space in a printed list for a patron. 4-5 pages for 15 results. The minimum is that there will be a long version and a short one to print, but better of if we could choose which fields…

  4. Add more granular CDI suppress settings per electronic collection

When Ex Libris changed the "Exclude CDI ebooks" setting to allow ebooks from Database type collections through, we ended up with a lot of duplicate ebook records. The only way to fix that is to select "Do not show as Full Text available in CDI even if active in Alma" for each of our ebook collections. However, that suppresses everything from the filtered search, including book chapter records. I'd like the ability to only suppress the CDI ebook records per collection.

I understand the need to allow ebooks from Database type collections through, but we've got to come up with…

  5. Feedback tool : option to integrate with ticketing system via webhook

We'd like to integrate the feedback button with our ticketing system via webhook instead of via sending mails.
We expect this will give better opportunities for integration eg. mapping the e-mail address of the customer to the customer e-mail address field in the ticketing system.

  6. Can the feedbacktool for Primo VE provide more information about the end user

Referring to the Idea : https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308176-primo/suggestions/45653308-the-new-give-us-feedback-tool-should-provide-infor that has been closed, our question is: can the information be provided whether the user is signed in.

If there is a single sign on of the proxy with Primo, this information is also useful when handling issues with access to e-resources.

  7. Feedbacktool to provide extra info from the Primo record in the Subject of the message

Additional context information of the record such as the source (Alma, CDI, external source) allows problem reports to be dispatched more efficiently to the relevant person / service that can solve the problem.

Our use case is the following: external sources (like institutional repository, archives,..) that are imported into the library catalogue are not managed in Alma. Questions about these records need to be forwarded to the managers of these sources, often to other departments outside of the library. The user is usually not able to make this distinction between records of different sources, so the use of categories is…

  8. Allow conditionality/logic toggles for fields in Primo Forms

Description: Currently the Resource Sharing Request form is fixed/non-customisable in the options available, e.g. format everything is available Digital or Print. However, for some circumstances we need to hide the options that don't apply to the request being made (see use case below) Given that conditionality/logic toggle is in the form for the chapter fields, this would is an additional application of the existing functionality in Primo forms, but that we could control.

Use Cases: Where we can only provide a resource type in one way (print or electornic) we want the selection of resource limits the format type appearing…

  9. Develop web browser bookmarking tool/extension for pre-populating Purchase Request

With the recent development of the Order It tool, we have realised that for our purposes, we would like to have a similar toll available related to Purchase Requests.

    Quicker, easier more accurate.

The form would help keep things accurate without giving access to order it to ordering librarians and help us utilise the requester information in the purchase request form (ours is behind a login and restricted to set user group)

The tool would grab and place the metadata from websites such as amazon, waterstones, and our suppliers, place the information into the purchase request form (which for us…

  10. Collection discovery - have an alert when using unsupported elements such as emoji

    Hello,
In Alma Under Add New Collection Fields for Name and Description fields: "Non-text characters such as emojis are not supported."
In fact, they cause a major side effect : the codes are then no longer translated into labels throughout Primo.
    I suggest:
    - either correcting this dysfunction
    - or, if emoji are prohibited (I'm personally not a fan of them for corporate communications), setting up an alert for the user when they attempt to include them in the relevant fields.
    Sincerely,

  11. Allow customization of CDI resource types in Resource Type Filter Bar

We are using the Resource Type Filter Bar with general satisfaction, with one major problem. Since Articles and Magazine Articles are separate CDI resource types now, and it isn’t possible to select more than one resource type pre-filter (in Simple or Advanced Search) -- it’s not possible to allow the user to search within both types of articles. There are some magazine articles that seem good to exclude, but there are others that are scholarly sources, even Peer Reviewed, and I fear our users may miss them. Ideally, we might want to enable the search within both types and allow…

  12. Exclude Esploro assets with no inventory from Primo blended searches

We would like an option to be added the Primo configuration to enable only Esploro records with inventory to be searched in a blended search with Alma and CDI records.

In the current configuration a search profile slot can be created in Discovery > Configure Views > Search Profile Slots to search across all resources (Alma, CDI, Esploro etc.). It is possible to include the ResearchHasInventory option in this slot but the result of this in Primo is that it only allows users to search either the blended (Alma and CDI) option OR the ResearchHasInventory option but doesn’t enable both…

  13. User name in the personal details tab

I'm wondering is it possibility to add a user name in the “personal details” tab, in one of the marked places in the screenshot (PVEMyLibraryCardAdditionalConfigOptions.png)? I tried to do it with a JavaScript Dynamic Directive, however I can't find the variable with the user name.

  15. More DEDUP keys

The implementation of the FRBR keys is affected by the DEDUP keys, so it would be desirable to add a new key in the DEDUP keys that includes the label 250.

  16. Customize brief display of fees in user account - Primo VE

On the overview page in the fees tile it displays 4 lines of information. If a user need more information they have to click on the entry to do so. One of the pieces of information in the drill down is if the fee was transferred to an outside entity such as bursars. Given there is a Pay Fees button even if transferred fees are present on this tab it would be nice to be able to have more lines display or at the least be able to order the display so what we feel is most important shows in…

  17. Stop the Alma link resolver from matching e-books and print bibs that aren't the same ed.

At present, if we have a 2nd ed e-book and a 2nd ed print (that is 2nd ed., EMEA ed.) of the same title, Primo is linking them when they are actually different editions. Ex Libris says this is because of matching via title and author and that the option to cancel this kind of match of a specific record isn't available. it would be good if we could unlink them in the Primo record

  18. RIS

We have found that many tags are missing from RIS record export files. And we have no way of adding a tag to the “Export Mapping for the RIS, EasyBib, and EndNote Actions” code table.
In particular, the language is missing: tag “LA”.
We'd like to be able to add at least a few tags on our own.

  19. Display print journal coverage dates in brief record display

We have activated the display of online journal coverage dates in the brief record display.
We would like to further enhance the user experience by also displaying the coverage of our print journals.
This will deliver a more consistent experience to our users.

Ex Libris has recommended posting this suggestion on the Idea Exchange (#07262867).

  20. FRBR generic: make display of the generic record customizable

We use FRBR generic (in Primo VE) because we deem FRBR preferred to be too confusing for our patrons.

We can't fix the duplicate display of contributors' names.

    Example:
    https://basel.swisscovery.org/discovery/search?query=any,contains,Homer%27s%20Iliad%20translated%20by%20Richmond%20Lattimore&tab=UBS&search_scope=UBS&vid=41SLSP_UBS:live&lang=en&offset=0, see also screenshot.

Lattimore is displayed three times, Martin twice.

As this is supposed to be a generic display, no contributors should be displayed here.

We got the following response from Ex Libris in our case:

    "
With the 'Generic record' option enabled, when conducting a search in Primo, in the list of results for a FRBR group, you will see a very generic record which is hardcoded and…
