RS Borrowing Requests – changing format before sending request
We would like the ability to change the format of a request before sending it to a Partner – e.g. from book/book chapter to journal/journal article or vice versa.
As our patrons don’t always know, or pay attention, to the actual source format, they often submit their requests with the wrong format, which our staff would like to fix before sending to Partners.
The ‘Change RS Requests Type’ cloud app does just that – supports changing the request type for resource sharing requests from ‘book request’ to ‘article request’ and vice versa

I would argue that this is not "solved" by a cloud app - a cloud app provides a workaround. Ideally this functionality would be built into Alma.

This was solved by the CloudApp 'Change RS Request Type" in January 2021.

This would be fantastic. The only option at the moment is to create an entirely new request manually, transfer all details, and cancel the initial request.

A similar idea was proposed to NERS in 2018.
"Ability to change citation type after resource sharing request was created" (ID: 5156) -

We have wanted this for a long time.

This would be fantastic. Either this or to just have the one request form to fill out in the first instance via Primo. We do know that using Citation Linker may fix this however it isn't our preference to use Citation Linker. One form or the ability to change from Book to Copy or Copy to Book once request reaches Alma RS would be fantastic (used to be able to do it in Aleph ILL originally too).

This is an excellent idea. We have implemented a workaround for this - we make the title and author required for book and the article title and journal title required for journal. We believe this helps with students putting in the wrong request type, but this would be great if we could change it ourselves!

It would be useful to allow library staff dealing with Interlibrary Loan ( ILL ) and working in the Resource Sharing ( RS ) library to change the material type of a created borrowing request. For example, right now when a patron places a request for an article and by mistake is using the empty order-form for BOOK, not for article, the request arrives in Alma, but obviously as BOOK. And this cannot be corrected. It would be good, if the library staff had the possibility to change the request type to ARTICLE, adding then the missing information about Journal title, volume, issue etc.
This idea has also been proposed to NERS system (ID: 4996).
