Display Logic To Hide Resource Sharing Options When No Lendable Copy Available
Currently, resource sharing links for consortia perform a lookup to determine if copies are held, but this lookup does not take into consideration whether the copies are actually lendable in the resource sharing system (e.g., if all of the copies held in the consortia are on reserve, or if they are in special collections that don't lend to other members of the consortia). These copies show up as available, resulting in the user placing a resource sharing request that gets immediately cancelled, which causes significant user confusion. It would be better if display logic would hide the resource sharing link if no lendable copies are available, so that the user might place an ILL request through another request system (such as ILLiad).

@Moshe. Thank you, this is very useful information - I think I will enable that checking field.
However, I believe the Idea was asking for the RTA to be established BEFORE the resource sharing request form is opened, so that the RTA could be taken into account within the display logic rules, so that an ILL request link would display in place of the resource sharing form. At least, that is what I came here to vote for!
Thanks,

Hi,
Alma performs a real time background check when a patron opens a request form on the Primo Get It tab to determine whether any rota partner has a requestable/available copy of the resource.
Alma displays a warning to the patron if the copy appears to be unavailable/unrequestable.
Whether or not requestability will be checked depends on how the locate profiles are defined (i.e. with 'check requestability'). The locate profile is the tool that Alma uses to place the availability indication on the screen.
To enable this, configure the Item Availability field on the Primo Resource Sharing Request form.
Thanks,
Moshe
