Automatic Loan Renewals-needs more options
Could you add the ability to configure automatic loan renewals by physical location within a library? We have some locations we would like to have auto renewals for and some that we do not.

It would be very useful for us if there were more configuration options to make it more flexible. For example, in our case, it is essential to be able to include the item policy as a configuration option. Thank you.

I just wanted to give this idea another bump. My library has added iPads to our circulating items and want to have them available for one academic quarter, with an option to renew for one additional quarter. We want patrons to come into the library with the item in order to renew. If we could configure our auto-renewal rule to omit the iPads, it would be very useful. I see a comment from Moshe about using TOUs to "limit" renewals, but I don't see a way to configure allowing manual renewal while prohibiting automatic renewal? Just adding a parameter to the auto renew rule to select for physical location would be so much cleaner. Thank you!

For us this would basically be the difference between making auto-renewals work properly for us and having to consider changing our whole remote storage configuration. Location as a parameter for the auto-renewals rules would help us enormously!

Please note you can use the fulfillment TOUs to prevent or limit the renewals.

Yes, basing this on user group and library only is far too broad. I'm sure it's true for most libraries that some locations need to be exempted from auto-renewal.

Ditto to the earlier comments. Automatic renewal limitations by user group without limitations by location is ineffectual. We need the ability to limit by location to prevent course reserves materials from automatically renewing. Thank you.

Yes, this is extremely important! I have never come across a library, academic or public, that allowed renewals on all materials in all locations. Even public libraries usually restrict renewals for bestsellers, etc. We have a collection of short term loan textbooks and course materials that are not eligible for renewal, but all the other collections in the library are. We have been doing auto renewals for our general collection for about a year, and patrons love it. We would hate to have to take that away from them.

Yes, exactly, please add the automatic renewal for certain location only as we don't allow automatic renewals on any course reserves materials.
