Translate Titles to Items set job
We'd like the ability to truly 'itemize' a set of All Titles / Physical Titles i.e. translate a set of titles uploaded from MMS IDs into a set on which we could run the Change Physical Items job. Many times we want to add an Internal note at the item level to a set, but we can't to sets that have been uploaded as Titles (except to add a local 9**, report on it the next day in analytics, export that report, excise the barcodes, and re-upload a set at the Item level - ridiculous!).
A smoother flexibility between Title and Item generally would be most welcome.

This would be extremely useful. As my most recent example, I have extracted information from OCLC Connexion about some records that need attention. However, I also need additional context about the item records. All I have are the OCNs, which I could use to make a Title set but not an Item set.
This means that I have to use Analytics in the Physical Item subject area and a filter converted to SQL, with thousands of OCNs in the statement, in order to get the needed information. This is an overly complicated workaround. I have to do something like this not infrequently due to the limited control number types that itemized item and title sets accept. More flexibility would allow for easier access to info needed for resource management, from a variety of approaches.

This would be very valuable. We need to be able to create a set of physical items based on ID matches that only exist in the Title record. Thanks to Sam Nesbit for sharing one workaround, however ridiculous it is. Solutions that require multiple edits to a record and exporting and reimporting from an external system (across multiple days) should NOT be the expected workflow.
