Add Disencumbrances to the Funds Expenditure SA of Analytics
Sometimes, you need to figure out instances where the release remaining encumbrance box was not checked off when paying an invoice. It would be a lot easier to identify these if there were a way to easily compare encumbrances and disencumbrances side by side. You can see expenditure and encumbrance transaction amounts, adding in disencumbrances would be useful.
1 voteHi this is being changed to “already supported”.
The idea states: “You can see expenditure and encumbrance transaction amounts, adding in disencumbrances would be useful.”
We respond: It is possible to see disencumbrances by using fieed “Transaction Item Sub Type” in the “Fund Transaction Details folder” of the “Funds Expenditure” subject area and filter by “disencumbrance”. Then display the “Transaction Amount” from the “Fund Transactions” folder. See two attached pictures. -
Emailing patrons straight from their patron record
From the patrons contact information: It would be great to be able to send emails straight from their account. (Click on email and have it open in outlook.) This would alleviate have to copy and paste into a seperate account.

Option to update E-book Type
We discovered recently that if the e-book material type is not added before the order is sent, it's automatically assigned to type - Portfolio. We want this to be Books. As there are now two e-material types because of this automation (Books and Portfolio),, it makes reporting difficult. Would it be possible to change the electronic material type at any time?
10 votesIt is possible to set the electronic material type at the portfolio level.

Support Microsoft Edge for Alma
According to documentation (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/010Getting_Started/050Alma_User_Interface_–_General_Information/010Browser_Requirements), Ex Libris does not support Microsoft Edge for Alma.
The use of Edge is growing and should be considered a major browser, and therefore supported.3 votes -
Link to edit POL when a purchase request is approved
When a purchase request is approved, a pop-up appears with a confirmation message and a link to the POL that has been created. This link only allows you to visualize the POL.
It would save time if it was an edit link of the POL or that from the display there would be a button to edit the POL.A video is attached
8 votesDear community, when a Purchase Request is approved and ordered, a PO line is created, Alma provides the user with a confirmation message with the newly created PO line number, this number is clickable and will navigate the user to the PO line in view mode. In case the user hase the relevant role, there is an “Edit” button on the top right corner of the screen which will convert the PO line from “View” to “Edit” mode.

Link approved purchase request to POL
Many of our Purchase Requests contain notes and comments that are useful in tracing purchase history and resolving issues. It would be useful to be able to open the Purchase Request from within a POL to access this information.
1 voteDear Steve,
Thanks for taking the time to share this idea. I’m glad to say that this is already supported and each PO line hold within it the “Additional” section where you can find the “Source type” field. When the source type field is “Purchase Request” it is linkable and direct the user to the purchase request which generated the PO line in view mode (including it’s notes if exists). Please see attached screen shot which present the link on the PO line to the purchase request. Thanks,

Configurable display text for Reasons for Nonrenewable Loans
In the Aug 2019 release Display Reasons for Nonrenewable Loans were introduced.
However, the text for these are not configurable.
This means long technical reasons are being presented to end users.
We would like the ability to add display text for non-reasonable resources to be used here. This would enable us to present a clear and concise message to our users.2 votesDear Amelia,
Thanks for submitting this idea.
Alma does support the customization for the labels presenting the reasons for nonrenewable Loans, you can find the option to customize these labels under Configuration menu → Fulfillment → Discovery Interface Display Logic → LabelsThanks,

offer Unimarc to Marc21 conversion or Marc 21 to Unimarc conversion
this would improve the effectiveness of data sharing and we feel it is very necessary to have this function in Alma. this can base on the function: rules.
mapping document can bu found in https://www.loc.gov/marc/unimarctomarc21.html4 votesAlma supports crosswalk between various formats including MARC21 and UNIMARC
please see the following documentation regarding the use of crosswalks as part of the import process -
Search entry for Resource Sharing Requests must be adjustable
When working on resource sharing requests lists (lending and borrowing) the first thing to do is selecting another search entry/term, mainly an aspect at the end of the list, to find a special request, because the author ist never the aspect we search for. The list in the pull down menue is hard coded and there is no option to re-order the list as we need it.
At least we like to achieve that the list starts with the last three search aspects the staff user has used. Alma has to remember them for the logged in staff user similar…53 votesSince the search of the list has moved to the upper persistent search bar, the last used search options are saved and can be easily reused. The last used search option is auto selected as default. See attached.

Booking requests such as a Study room request should be canceled automatically after more than booking release time if it is not loaned
In this document: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/030Fulfillment/080Configuring_Fulfillment/050Physical_Fulfillment#fulfillment.tou.termsOfUseManagement
Is indicated that if the booking release time passes and the requesting patron does not loan the resource, the booking request is still in effect but the resource can be loaned to another patron.
It would be very useful if the booking request, for example study room request, were canceled automatically after more than booking release time if it is not loaned. So we should not be pending to cancel them manually if it is not occupied.
Thanks in advanced!11 votesThe Handle Expired Booking Requests scheduled job considers all expired booking requests that are not in Failed, Rejected, or Completed statuses and cancels each request that meets the criteria. The job also anonymizes the request according to the institution’s request anonymization configuration.

Allow more customization on when notices are sent to Interested Users
Right now, if we add an interested user to a PO Line, they receive a notification when the book is received by the library. They often then make their way to the Access Services desk almost immediately, assuming a request was placed on the book, and anticipate checking it out. However, the title is usually still in Technical Services for end processing, copy cataloging, etc.
We would like to submit an enhancement request that this feature be more customizable, allowing us to delay the notice being sent to the interested user until the book is out of processing and has…321 votesDear community,
As stated below by Zohar Shemesh, for physical material it is possible to "keep in department" and have the letter to interested users sent only when "Done".
The description of this idea focuses on physical material. In the comments, some ideas were raised regarding electronic material.
I close this idea as the physical material part is already supported. You can open a separate idea, focusing on electronic material.

Date of location change in Analytics
Analytics should allow users to run reports on the date of an Item's location change -- e.g. how many items were moved from Library A to Library B during a certain time period. This information is visible in the Item history tab; it should be made available for management reports especially now as libraries are engaged in consolidation, off-site storage, and shared print projects.

Notify libraries when e-mailed notices bounce
I just discovered an e-mail address for an internal patron (non-student) was entered incorrectly, so the patron could not possibly have received any of the overdue notices that were sent to her. If the the person who handle bills and overdues or someone at the library could receive notification when an e-mail sent out through Alma bounces, a problem of this sort could be rectified quickly. If I had not stumbled across the error, the patron might never have been notified about her overdue book.
31 votesDear Customers,
This request is already supported, there are instructions in the OLH explaining how bounced emails can be handled.

Toggle cancelled lending requests in a "terminated" status
Cancelled and rejected lending requests stay "active". This creates a lot of noise in the list of active lending requests.
I
deally, cancelled and rejected lending requests would keep their cancelled status, but have an activity status of terminated (because there is nothing else to do).3 votesSee “Workflow Options for Rejected Resource Sharing Requests” at https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Release_Notes/010_2018/001Alma_2018_Release_Notes?mon=201803

Index authorities used in bibs in Analytics
Index authorities in a given bib, or better yet, unauthorized headings in bibs in Analytics so I can obtain a list of unauthorized headings and partially authorized headings for correction in Alma.
1 votePlease note regarding the request here to obtain a list of unauthorized headings:
You can get this via the authority control task list (under resources > cataloging). The authority control task list is interactive allowing you to click the heading and go right to the bibliographic record.
Filter by type “linking – bib heading found no matching AUT headings”. -
Display Logic To Hide Resource Sharing Options When No Lendable Copy Available
Currently, resource sharing links for consortia perform a lookup to determine if copies are held, but this lookup does not take into consideration whether the copies are actually lendable in the resource sharing system (e.g., if all of the copies held in the consortia are on reserve, or if they are in special collections that don't lend to other members of the consortia). These copies show up as available, resulting in the user placing a resource sharing request that gets immediately cancelled, which causes significant user confusion. It would be better if display logic would hide the resource sharing link…

Add a copy (bcc) to the library when cancel request
When a cancellation is made, a message is sent to the user notifying them, but a copy of this message does not reach any of the libraries involved. I suggest adding a BCC for the library.
3 votesHI,
It is possible to send system emails with blind carbon copies (BCC) for any preconfigured email address. All letter tables will contain the new field, bcc_address. This can be used to send copies of letters to the relevant library’s email address.

More order type options for Additional Orders
We would like more order types to choose from when creating additional orders on a portfolio using the “Additional Order” button. Particularly, Electronic Book - One Time and Electronic Title - One Time.
Currently there are only a limited number of order types available when creating an order via this method. This creates inefficiencies, because using the Additional Order button is the easiest, quickest and neatest way to create an additional order on a portfolio.
An example of where this change would be helpful is when purchasing additional copies of a limited-user ebook. Because we don’t have the option of…
356 votesTo address the need of "Electronic Book - One Time order via the Additional Order function", Alma supports the "Additional Order" purchase type (when creating additional order for PO line type "Electronic" the "License upgrade" option will appear), this will support the flow of purchasing additional copies of a limited-user ebook.

Increase character limit for Vendor Reference Number field in the PO Line & accept non alphanumeric characters
We are seeing longer and longer SNAs from vendors for titles. And, since we want to be billed at the title level whenever possible, so that we have the best cost/use data available, we often ask to be billed at the title level.
To do this, the Vendor Reference Number field in the POL needs to be at least 15 characters long. Additionally, it needs to accept hyphens, as many package SNAs have a common root, followed by a hyphen, and then a suffix for the specific title.1 voteThe vendor reference number on the PO line can receive numbers – text – and hyphens. In case order are created via a file (EOD) there should be no limit (up to 255 characters) to the length – characters – hyphens. In case the reference number needs to be sent in EDI to the vendor, the length of the string can be up to 30 characters long.
This is supported.

[Alma] - resource sharing form - explicitly accept conditions
In the Resource Sharing Form right now there is neither nothing remembering the user of the conditions for the ILL service nor a check box meaning their acceptance.
It would be better to have a mandatory check box to click to grant acceptance of the conditions and a link to an external webpage summarizing those conditions.
49 votesThe resource sharing form mandates the signing of a copyright declaration. The exact text of the copyright declaration is fully configurable by the institution, see https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/030Fulfillment/080Configuring_Fulfillment/Copyright_Management#Configuring_Copyright_Declarations. The text can be configured to make sure the patron signs in agreement for the service’s terms of use.
