  1. Provide ability to create templates for reserve materials

    1. Our Fulfillment staff are unable to use locally created templates to create records for materials on course reserve. We do not want to give them cataloger roles.
    2. They have the following options-- print book, e-book, print article, e-article. This is limiting and we place other types of resources on reserve, including streaming audio and video.

  2. Include Network IDs of linked bib records in quick export of bib records to Excel

    Please include Network IDs of linked bib records in the quick export of bib records to Excel. Currently the export does not contain Network IDs of linked records. If it includes the Network IDs, we can simply copy the Network IDs, and use them to create a set in the NZ, for further global updating. We need the Network IDs to create an NZ set especially when the original repository search criteria are based on some local contents, which do not exist in the NZ environment.   3. PO Line for Standing Orders: Renewal field

    when creating a POL for a standing order, the Renewal field is required before the order can be saved/sent. But the whole point of a standing order is that I don't have to do anything to renew it; the vendor just keeps sending them. This should not be a required field; it's clogging up my renewals because I there is no action needed on my part.

  4. Put full 100 field information in search results

    Please put the full 1XX field in the search results.

    We have many people with the same or similar names which are distinguished by dates or other information from the 100 field. It would be very useful to have all the personal name information this display in the metadata editor and also to be available in the Excel download of the search results.

  5. A purchase request with the status "Approved" can be rejected (NOT deleted) and that this information is updated in My Library

    Our proposal is that a purchase request with the status "Approved" can be rejected (NOT deleted) and that this information is updated in My Library (we want the user can see that their purchase request was rejected). The problem when you try to do this is that Alma warns that requests with status "Approved" can not be rejected.

    Ideally, when the POL associated with the purchase request is canceled, Alma should automatically reject this request and it would be displayed in Primo-My Library. (for example, the provider says the book is out of stock)

  6. Update/Notify Users

    External Notes and Statistics information is overwritten when synchronizing patrons Externally via the SIS system. Notes and Statistics information can be entered manually and set as “Internal” by running the Update/Notify Users job and selecting the option “Add/changed field = Internal”. However, you are limited by the information that can be added to each selection. In the “Notes” selection you can’t select nor add a Note Type. In the Statistic selection, there’s no option to select a Category Type or type a Note. (see examples)

  7. Changing Report Schedule - maintain notifications

    Analytics Configuration and Subscription - when you change the schedule of a report, it wipes out the email notifications that were set up in the original report. This should not happen - these should be maintained. We did not realize this until we did not receive a report we were expecting and we tracked it down to this issue.

  8. Fine and Fees notification email

    We would like the ability for a user to be notified and sent an email of the fees that they have when they come in to the library. This is done currently through a job that runs daily or weekly, but we also want the ability to send it to just one person.

  10. Selecting/deselecting multiple sets for OAI harvest

    The configuration of the digital collections import profile allows you to declare sets, but the only current options seem to be to harvest all sets or to harvest single sets individually. There's no way to CTRL-Click to include multiple sets.

    This CTRL-Click functionaity and/or set exclusion should be a feature request. For most collections, we have one or two sets that should be excluded and dozens that should not. Doing dozens of individual harvests is impractical.

  11. Improved reporting on SMS notifications

    Currently it's not possible to report specifically on the number of SMS messages generated by Alma. A lot of the options available in Analytics either include both SMS and email notifications or focus on SMS messages that failed to send. It would be beneficial to be able to report on notifications by type (email or SMS), for both auditing purposes and to get a better idea of how well used our SMS notification service is.

  12. Analytics - Excel Export - Column Widths

    Analytics has a few places to adjust column width, but none of them export to Excel. As a result, every Excel export includes a few columns that are extremely wide (as wide as my monitor) and extremely narrow (virtually hidden). The widths have nothing to do with column/cell content, so text wrapping doesn't fix the issue.

    I've confirmed with Salesforce that there isn't a way to set widths for Excel export. Other font/colour/style settings export properly to Excel; it's amazing to me that column widths don't. I'd like to avoid formatting every Excel export before it's usable.

  13. Provide a notice/warning on Scan In when a home delivery is blocked

    When an item requested for home delivery is scanned in and the patron is blocked, e.g. due to excessive fines, Alma silently places the item on the Hold Shelf. There is no notice to the staff user that the item was requested for home delivery and that a fulfillment process was just interrupted.

    We use home delivery exclusively for remote students that often will not be able to come in and pick up their items, so placing the item on the hold shelf will not help them.

    I would like to suggest that when the cataloger has to create an item and adds barcode, that certain details like Copy ID and Inventory Date are automatically input and saved. Currently when the barcode is inserted, it saves automatically and leaves the page immediately. This delays our work, as we have to go back to edit the item again and insert all other details.

  15. Fix $g in 773 / 774 related records

    According to documentation (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/040Resource_Management/040Metadata_Management/130Configuring_Related_Records_for_Physical_Inventory), $g in linking entry MARC fields (such as 773 or 774) "links to specific items for the record specified in the $w, $x, and $z subfields). According to support " it is outside Alma's current functionality to be able to be separate an item from a collection of related bib records. It would be an enhancement to this functionality."

    I am proposing that Ex Libris fix or enhance this functionality so it will work. My institution has a large collection of 'bound with' physical materials from the 1700s with analytical cataloging. For example, 26…

  17. Add option to use hyperlink in license terms

    Add functionality to license terms displayed in Primo under "Show License" to include a hyperlink, or clickable link. It would be helpful to be able to include a URL in the list of license terms, that patrons are able to click. Our institution uses an external tool to help determine terms of use and would like to direct patrons to the tool using a link in the License Terms.

  18. Eliminate the confirmation step when editing item records.

    The process of receiving journal items is unnecessarily slowed down by having to confirm every single edit. Clicking on "Save" should be enough to get the job done. Breaking out Receive as a separate step has already added a step to the process. Please consider any and all ways of reducing the amount of time spent looking at blue spinning circles. Thank you.

  19. Make Suppressing a location function the same as suppressing a holding in all publishing jobs

    Currently, the general publishing job exports inventory in locations which are ticked "Suppress from Discovery" in Physical Locations config, when "Excluded Suppressed Locations: is ticked in the Publishing Profile.

    Alma should handle this flag as it does for Publishing to Primo and Publishing to Libraries Australia and ignore suppressed locations, otherwise what's the point of setting this at the location level and then providing an option to Exclude suppressed records. It is extra work to set this value for each individual bib/holdings record.

    鉴于现在在ALMA中下订的期刊订单,我们全部都需要给每一种期刊的订单人工去更新和填写续订字段的信息,
    工作量比较繁重。我的想法是建议alma在“run a job”的“Update PO Lines Information”的作业中,增加“订购开始日期、续订日期、续订提醒天数”这些操作项,从而实现对订单批添加这些字段信息(目前的“Update PO Lines Information”已经有“手工续订”这个选项可以批处理,增加剩下的字段应该可以实现)。
