  1. Use data in the Physical Condition field to create a conditional message in the On Hold Shelf Letter

    There is currently a notesaffectloan label in Letters that will conditionally create a message if a patron has a block on their account. Another factor that could affect the decision to loan an item is the physical condition of that item. A conditional message in the On Hold Shelf Letter that the item is Brittle or Damaged or Fragile and may not be available for loan would be ideal.

  2. Confirmation message when receiving items for continuous titles

    Please consider adding a confirmation message when an item for a continuous title (e.g. print serial) has been successfully received. This messaging--which would be similar to the "success" screen when checking in serials in Aleph--would make the process much clearer for student workers who often handle this task in academic libraries.

  3. warning when saving changes in patron record before closing record

    When editing a user record, it would be helpful to get a warning pop-up if you try to close the record without saving it. Sometimes when you get interrupted, it's very easy to just close the record without saving the change.

  4. Record Scans in Fulfillment History Even When In-House Use is Not Checked in Scan in Items

    For some workflows it's advantageous to give an item a final scan before it is off to shelving or wherever. However this scan isn't necessarily statistically useful so a lot of items may pass through scan in items without the in house use box being checked and those scans don't show in the fulfillment history.

    For purposes of physically tracking items would it be possible for these scans to register in the fulfillment history of an item as something other than a return, loan, or in house use? Maybe just as "Scanned?"

  5. Waitlist functionality for short-term loans

    It would be helpful to have a waitlist functionality for short-term loans (i.e. for reserve items). This would allow patrons to put their name on a list to be next in line once a short-term loan item has been returned. Alma would send an email/text to the patron when the item is returned telling the patron they have a specific window of time (e.g. 5 minutes, configurable by the institution) to check out the item. During that window of time no other patrons can check it out. After the window of time has expired the next person on the waitlist…

  6. Allow General Electronic Services links to populate the services menu

    Currently, the only way for a link from one of our sources such as Web of Science through Primo to the resource is using the General Electronic Service (GES). The problem is that "No full text available" will display in the services menu. SFX had the ability to make the GES link display in the services menu. Is there a way to force the Proquest D&T GES link to display in the services menu instead of the "No full text available" message?

  7. Add First Name/Last Name fields to Staff Login Report

    Please add more fields to the Staff Login Report to help identify the staff in the list. At the moment it only reports out Primary ID which is just a staff number at my institution.

    To be able to use the report more easily and effectively we need First Name and Last Name fields in the report.

    Other fields could potentially be useful to some institutions such as User Group and Job Description.

  8. 'Additional PO Line' description

    When you have inventory that is connected to multiple PO Lines, it would be great to be able to see the description of the POL from within the inventory. Currently the additional POLs are listed but you can only see a PO Line number, and you need to click into each one to see the description.

  9. Enable link from Invoice line to live Purchase Order Line so that data can be updated

    The Alma renewals workflow for continuous resources (Subscription POLs) involves creating Invoices and updating the renewal date and other data such as Notes in the Purchase Order Line. This should be possible as part of a unified workflow when invoicing, i.e. adding the invoice line and then linking through to a live Purchase Order Line to update and save the renewal date etc.
    Currently the Invoice Line PO Line link is View Only which means a separate search and action is required to find and update the renewal dates etc in POLs. This is inefficient and wastes time - given…

  10. Force article request form for ebooks

    When patrons place a resource sharing request on eBooks, we would like the article request form to appear. Currently the request form type by genre cannot accomodate this for eBooks because both eBooks and print books share the genre type book. If Ex Libris could assign eBooks a different genre type, we could easily force the correct form. However, any way to accomplish the same thing would be great! Don't care how it happens.

  11. Change currency in the order

    In the order the currency can not changed when the order is saved already. See attachment too, please.

    We need a possibility to change the currency after sending the order. Here are the reasons:

    a) During the order creation it was made a mistake.
    b) For subscriptions and standing orders the currency changes during the lifecycle. First we used British pound and than we use Euro, for example. The vendor changes the currency and we also have to be able to change that.

    Thanks for this idea.

    I would like to make sure that we fully understand the use case:

    1 The need is to allow users to change the currency for PO lines which were packaged and sent.

    Can you please specify the statuses in which this is needed?

    2 Upon such change, funding should be handled: disencumbrance for the original encumbered amount, and a new encumbrance on the fund with the new amount and currency. Is this correct?

    3 The POL should be removed from the original PO, and re-packed. Is this correct?

    4 Should the order be sent to the vendor again?

  12. Have more file format choices for loading profiles in the ES-Editor

    Rather than only being able to download profiles in Excel format in the Electronic Services Editor, it would be nice to be able to use MARC and text formats as well. There could be a radio button selection for file format. This would be better than using a profile import, since the Electronic Services Editor contains the link resolver and the profile import does not. Thank you.

  13. Acquisition Renewals for NZ e-collections

    We would like the ability to renew a shared e-collection.
    The new FY year price would be displayed in the negotiated license and then a renew button would be available. the library would see the new FY cost and then renew or cancel that subscription.
    Then this renewal or cancel would notify the NZ administrator.
    (similar to the functionality in ConsortiaManager).

  14. keyboard shortcuts for "done" and "exit" especially

    Alma is extremely rough on the carpal tunnel because of having to make so many clicks. There should be keyboard shortcuts for everything possible, but especially for "Done" and "Exit," and for all the routine tasks of Fulfillment.

  15. Stop the practice of showing funds for 'in review' invoices as expenditure.

    Current Alma practice is that EDI invoices automatically load into Alma and expend from a fund whilst still 'in review' and before the 'approval' stage.

    Below are some examples where the practice of expending a fund whilst the invoice is still 'in review' is causing us issues:

    1. We have full end-to-end invoice integration from our suppliers, via Alma and into Agresso. We don't send through manual invoices for payment. Our invoice data is automatically transferred through to Agresso every evening once an invoice has been approved. Only those invoices that have moved out of review are included in the export.…

  16. Ability to amend the Reason MappingTable

    Currently if an item has its due date shortened due to a Recall or a Patron Expiry the text provided to the end user, via the shortened loan due date letter, is not customisable. There doesn't appear to be a Reason Mapping table, so the text for the RECALL or PATRONEXPIRY reasons is somethign we have no control over.
    It would be really useful to be able to amend these .

  17. allow the use of sets in Overlap and Collection Analysis

    The Overlap and Collection Analysis wizard allows two report types: Set Comparison and Selected Titles. Set Comparison only allows you to choose electronic collections, so the name is a misnomer. Selected Titles only allows you to upload a file. Neither type allows you to use the itemized/logical set functionality that already exists in Alma.

  18. Send Courtesy Notices and Handle Loan Renewals - send at different times based on Item Policy

    Currently the Send Courtesy Notices and Handle Loan Renewals job has a t value "Days before Due Date" that applies to all loans, irrespective of the Item policy. Therefore if the item is only on a week loan then user is getting the courtesy letter quite soon after the loan was issued.
    We would like an amendment to this job so that it can be configured to allow the courtesy letter sent at different times based on the Item Policy.

  19. Field to add "Charges" in the price.

    We need a field that allows us to add "Charges" in vendor record or in the POL, now these only allow discounts.

    Nowadays we have to assign this charge manually in the POL's list price.

  20. Resume auto renewals for all copies when request is filled or cancelled

    Currently Alma only resumes auto renewals for the one copy it has recalled, and the other copies of that title have to be manually renewed in order to restart the auto renewals process. It is difficult to explain to users why one copy is auto renewing again and their copy is not, because there doesn't seem to be any logical reason or advantage to this.
