  1. Duplicate Title Analysis should include match option for Unique OCLC number match method

The Duplicate Title Analysis job and report currently include matching on only one attribute at a time, rather than on all of the attributes that might be covered by a given match rule. For instance, matching on system number provides only matches between 035$a in different records, while the Unique OCLC number match method covers both 035$a and 035$z. As a result the duplicate title analysis report is missing records that would otherwise be found by an import profile or the match method in the network zone.

  2. Metadata Editor, New menu for Rules needs Placement Options choice

In the new metadata editor, when a user has either records or templates selected as the working context, the New menu includes a choice for Placement Options that allows the user to change where records are saved (IZ or NZ). At present (5/13/2021), when Rules is the editing context, there is no ability to change where rules are saved.

Without access to the Placement Options dialog, a user has to save and close the rule being edited. Then the user must change to one of the other contexts (Records or Templates) in order to access the dialog and change to…

  3. SEARCH BAR SCOPE = STICKY

When searching, you can choose the scope from your institution, to Network Zone, to Community Zone. This choice should stick.

I work in Resource Sharing, and mostly in the Network Zone. I have to choose "network" every time I search something. It would be great if once I selected the NZ scope it would stick and stay there for every search.

  4. Display the item description (300 field) in the results list of a Network resource search

When searching for the correct catalog record for books that are often reprinted by the same publisher (like classical poetry or foreign travel handbooks), and the Network Zone has several records for that title, publisher, and year - it would be nice to see at a glance which record is for a book with 50 pages vs the one with 60 pages.

  5. Items with fulfillment notes cannot be checked out on self checkout machines

Currently items with Fulfillment Notes loaned through the Automated Fulfillment Network (AFN) cannot be checked out on the self checkout machines. Locally owned items with fulfillment notes can be checked out through the machines. Having the ability to checkout all loans on the machines regardless of notes will streamline the process for patrons and service desk staff. It will also eliminate the confusion that occurs when users encounter this situation during the time of checkout.

  6. Add Volume number to Matching Records summary results in the Metadata Editor

When a single ISBN is assigned to an entire set of multi-volume works, sharing the record for one of the volumes with the Network Zone may retrieve multiple matching records. In these cases, it is difficult to find the correct record because the Title, Author, ISBN, and Subjects are the same. We have to open each record using the View option to check the Volume number, and when dozens of volumes exist, it will take a long time to find the right one. It would be helpful if we could see the volume number in the brief results without opening…

  7. Fulfillment Network AFN- Add "Manual Locate Job" id to Borrowing Request details; Add Borrowing Request ID to "Manual Locate Job" details

In an Automated Fulfillment Network (AFN), when an institution's user places a resource sharing borrowing request, Alma runs the "Manual Locate Job" to build the rota for the request. The job report can be viewed in the Admin> Manage Jobs and Sets> Monitor Jobs> Job History.

Currently, the only way to match the "Manual Locate Job" for a specific user's borrowing request, back to that borrowing request as listed in Fulfillment> Resource Sharing> Borrowing Request is by timestamp.

Please add the Manual Locate Job's identifier to the user's Fulfillment> Resource Sharing> Borrowing Request details, as well as adding the Borrowing…

  8. Allow the Primo widget to report on publishing jobs performed in the Network Zone

The Primo Dashboard widget in our environment does not provide details on the "last publishing job". According to Ex Libris support, this is by design since our publishing job occurs in the Network Zone, rather than the IZ. Many Alma users operate in consoritial environments. Please design the widget so that it also reports on publishing jobs performed in the Network Zone.

  9. Optionally expose user groups to fulfillment network

We would like to circulate items to fulfillment network member patrons based on their user type in their home institution.

This means that the linked account rules need to be based on Source Institution + Source Institution User Group.

This could be made an optional feature so that Fulfillment networks that did not want to share that level of detail didn't have to.

  10. Ability to queue borrowing requests for a temporarily inactive partner

    Hi,
For resource sharing, we use Alma partners with the ISO profile type that are part of the Libraries Australia Document Delivery (LADD) network.

When partner libraries suspend themselves from LADD services, their Status updates in Alma to Inactive.

However, sometimes a Library is the only possible lender of material. In these cases, we would prefer to wait until the Library becomes Active again, instead of trying to source a partner overseas (for us in Australia, time-consuming and much more expensive, plus challenges with postal delays). At present, we add a Note to the request that it is to be…

  11. AFN Loans on library loans webhooks

We manage home delivery requests. We need to print labels and generate a file of deliveries once a day with all loans.

Alma did not provide a list of home delivery transactions the same day, you need to wait the next day to generate a Analytics report.

We have developed a solution that makes a list using Loans Webhooks. Now we are using AFN (Automated Fulfillment Network) in our consortium and those transactions are not published on our Webhook, because books are from other institutions even though the loan was made in our system.
In order to have all home delivery transactions we need all loans made…

  12. Restricting Alma Logins by local network IP Range

We would like to be able to restrict alma logins based on their internal IP address and not just their Public IP address.

Currently we can restrict by IP address but the restriction is only applying network wide to our public IP address.

Our goal is to restrict alma logins to specific machines on our network.

  13. Network Zone indicator for centrally paid collections

In our instance of the Network Zone, we have collections that the central office negotiates a price for the libraries but the central office does not pay for those collections. We also have collections that are paid for by the central office. Currently I add internal notes indicating if the collection is centrally paid or not. Can an indicator be added to the CZ collections, in which during activation, you could check a box in the Activation Wizard: Electronic Collection and Services Setup that indicates the collection is centrally paid for.

  14. Allow for IZ-to-IZ reporting capabilities in Alma Analytics

When in an Alma institution zone, one can query a title MMS ID, grab the network ID from the record, and look up all institutions in the network with a holding for that title. You can even drill down into those records to see the barcodes for the individual items at other institutions. But there is no way to replicate this same query in Alma Analytics. When part of a network, there should be an easy way to use Alma Analytics to see all barcodes of a title across the entire network to compare holdings.

  15. Include Network IDs of linked bib records in quick export of bib records to Excel

Please include Network IDs of linked bib records in the quick export of bib records to Excel. Currently the export does not contain Network IDs of linked records. If it includes the Network IDs, we can simply copy the Network IDs, and use them to create a set in the NZ, for further global updating. We need the Network IDs to create an NZ set especially when the original repository search criteria are based on some local contents, which do not exist in the NZ environment. In other words, if we want to create an NZ set based on the…

  16. Make "Automatically print slip" toggle available when scanning in Fulfillment Network items

When we receive requested items from Fulfillment Network libraries via Scan In Items, the hold slip doesn't print because the "Automatically print slip" option disappears as soon as we select the "Item from another institution" checkbox. We would like the "Automatically print slip" toggle to remain available regardless of which institution's item we're scanning. The option was added to the Resource Sharing Receiving Items screen in 2017, and it seems logical (and necessary) in this situation as well.

  17. Add API name as an Analytics field in Physical Items subject area

I am looking to create an Alma Analytics report for quality control purposes for the numerous Ex Libris Developer Network's apps we use. Currently, the only way to monitor item record changes using the APIs in the Physical Items subject area is to select "Modified By" but the only option recorded is "exl-api". I cannot monitor which APIs are updating which records with this generic "exl-api" response. I would like to add either a different field to select API by name or update the "exl-api" response to "exl-api_[name of API]".

  18. Increase report limits on Delete bibliographic records job

The Delete Bibliographic Records job does not include a report on the records deleted and any errors if the set is larger than 10,000 records. This number is not sufficiently large enough for operations in a network zone, and the main workaround is to create smaller sets of records and running multiple delete jobs.

Please increase the reporting limits on the delete bibliographic records job.

  19. Run the job ‘Change Physical Items information’ with user role ‘Physical Inventory Operator’ at library level

    Background
Currently, a user with ‘Physical Inventory Operator’ role at institutional level can perform physical inventory change by a batch job ‘Change Physical Items information’ in Alma. This applies to a set of any physical items owned by all libraries in an institution. A user with this role at library level has no way to run the job ‘Change Physical Items information’ in Alma as it is not on the job list.

    Request
In an institution of a network of libraries, a branch library staff often updates information of a batch of physical items owned by branch library. The user…

  20. Fulfillment Network Search in Alma Network Zone

I’d like the ability to only search the other colleges in our fulfillment network in an Alma network zone search. A current search of the network zone shows holdings from all of the different colleges in our consortium, but there is no way to narrow that search down to only show holdings from colleges in your fulfillment network unless you go into Primo.

It’d be nice to take Primo’s functionality of only searching your fulfillment network’s holdings and apply that filter to an Alma network zone search via a facet or something of that nature.
