An error occurred while saving the comment Caroline L. Brown commentedYes to this! and in general, allow institutions to set all default responses as they need to. Institutions have different use cases. Providing configuration in this area would be are great benefit.

An error occurred while saving the comment Caroline L. Brown commentedThe ability to perform bulk processes from "Manage Patron Services" is an essential function within library services. Currently when a faculty member has 100 "lost" books they would like to renew it takes an inordinate amount of staff time set to "found", clear fines (if necessary) then renew.

It will be possible to configure an audio alert for pop up messages that appear at the Patron Services WB or at the Scan In Interface.

An error occurred while saving the comment Caroline L. Brown commentedThis isn't strictly a training issue. Sound alerts would be helpful for all Alma users - not just student workers. When there are connection issues and/or Alma is slow to respond a sound alert would prompt the user who may be processing materials more quickly than Alma responds. Sound alerts are not an unreasonable expectation in 2020. And there’s the general issue of Alma design and accessibility. A sound alert would be helpful to someone with a visual constraint.

An error occurred while saving the comment Caroline L. Brown commentedAgreed, being able to send a receipt directly from "Return Items" would be an enhancement to the return process for patrons and staff.

An error occurred while saving the comment Caroline L. Brown commentedThis would be a very good enhancement as it would be more intuitive for library users. Most library users use the same library location for circulation. Having the due date based on the library calendar of the lending library makes for a better customer service experience.

When a loan due date is shortened due to patron expiry, Alma will retain and internal an indication for that on the loan record. This way when the patron expiry is updated (shortened OR extended) the loan due date will be recalculated using the loan date (i.e. as if the recalculation is happening at loan time).
This way, the due date may be extended or shortened according to the new expiry date.
