Ability to add fields to request forms
Hi team,
I am Chandan from the University of Tasmania and we recently got our Ex Libris systems. One thing we noticed while working with request forms was that there was no way to add or change the fields on request forms such as purchase request, hold request etc. It would be really good if we could do that! We currently require fields such as location and number of units in the purchase request form to better track the request for the submitter.

Add a “Scholarly” Search Results Facet
Adding a "Scholarly" search results facet to Primo VE or the future NDE, in addition to the existing "Peer-Reviewed" facet, would be beneficial, similar to Summon's “Scholarly & Peer-Reviewed” facet.
Not all peer-reviewed articles are scholarly, so having both facets would enable users to refine their searches according to their specific needs.
This shouldn’t require huge effort since Summon is also an Ex Libris product, and resources for implementation should be readily available.

Support a grouping for non-alphanumeric titles in AZ list
For the "Support AZ List in Database and Journal Searches" in 2025 May release, please add back the link to group non-alphanumeric titles. In the old Primo, if I remember correctly, there was a "#" link in which I can see all non-alphanumeric titles, e.g. starting with Chinese characters.

Enable separate search profiles, scopes, and slots for Advanced Search
We request the ability to display search profiles, scopes, and slots separately and selectively in Simple and Advanced Search. Today, any search profile added to a search configuration automatically appears in both Simple and Advanced Search together; it is not possible to configure them separately. We would like the option to display the profiles, scopes, and slots in Simple Search only, or Advanced Search only, or both. We request this at all levels of search profile/scope/slot configuration. Do not interpret words in phrase searches as Boolean operators
At ETH Library, we use UDK classification. The UDK notations are always in capital letters, and some contain words as “AND” or German “UND”. “AND” and “UND” are defined as Boolean operators in our Primo VE. This leads to the following problem: when a user clicks on an UDK notation that contains such a word (e.g. on “PFLANZEN + BÄUME + BLUMEN (MOTIVE IN KUNST, LITERATUR UND FILM)” in this record: https://eth.swisscovery.slsp.ch/permalink/41SLSP_ETH/lshl64/alma990015558430205503), a search for “subject equals exact phrase” in the advanced search is triggered. Customise Purchase Suggestion Form material type list
The Purchase Suggestion Form in Primo VE currently offers a drop-down menu of all possible material types, including things like Ephemera, Toys, and Vinyl LP, which we don't want to turn off as a material type option but we also don't want to offer as a purchasing possibility. At the moment there's no way to switch off material types from that dropdown without removing them as an option for new items completely. We would like an option to customise this purchase suggestion form material type list with more flexibility.

Primo VE mobile device enhancement
When using Primo VE on a mobile device, such as a mobile phone, if you change from portrait to landscape and then back to portrait, half of the page will become blank, which is not conducive to readers' viewing.

Allow Primo Research Assistant proxy definition to be determined by electronic collection's service
Currently, there is only one proxy definition allowed for the electronic services in Primo Research Assistant, but a one-size-fits-all approach is not sufficient for our needs. Alma allows for multiple proxy definitions to be used with electronic services, as they are configured in each electronic collection's service editor. We currently use 3 different definitions: 1) OpenAthens Redirector, 2) OpenAthens Proxy, and 3) no proxy. Please mirror this functionality in PRA so that we can create the correct links for all of our electronic services.

Option to specify different price categories in the Request Sharing form
Depending on where the library can obtain a document ordered by interlibrary loan, our patrons have to pay different fees (price categories in our case: 1. from Swiss libraries, 2. from Europe, 3. from overseas). Our patrons should be able to specify in the ILL form up to which category they are willing to pay the costs. Unfortunately, in Primo VE it is only possible to display the field “Maximum fee”, in which patrons can enter any amount they wish. Create option within Entire Network Inventory to display All Physical Inventory (regardless of availability)
This concerns Custom Local Data Scopes. Currently, the only physical option within Entire Network Inventory is to display Available Physical. This means that when there is a physical item that only we hold within our consortium, but is out on loan, that we cannot see our own item in PrimoVE. And for this reason, we also cannot order the item via interlibrary loan – because there is no record. Further, the record will exist in other catalogs (e.g., WorldCat), but when the user clicks on our institution from those other catalogs, it results in a dead-end loop for the user.…

A URL that points to the Primo Research Assistant internal help page
At the moment it is not possible to use a URL to access the internal help page for the Primo Research Assistant because it is handled/resolved by AngularJS.
We would like this help page to be made available via a URL that could be used in other web pages.

Enable person entity functionality at the view level
The new feature (May 2024) for person entities is either on or off for all views.
For some special-purpose views it may be inappropriate to display person entity cards. At present the library would have to deploy a customisation package to allow it to show on some views, but hide it on others. It would be simpler to enable via check boxes in a view's general tab.

new bibliographic releases in primo
Some time ago, a proposal was made to modify the criteria for the elaboration of new bibliographic releases (New records facet according to inventary record) so that it would be based on the date of receipt of the issue instead of the date of its creation, since in the case of novelties in the last week, many issues that were recently incorporated are often lost, but the issue was created in connection with a POL.
By implementing this proposal, the catalog could make it easier for its users to manage new items with shorter periods.

Add more than 7 lines – Advanced searches only include a maximum of seven search criteria lines
Could we have the capability to include more than seven lines in the advanced search function? In Summon, Web of Science and numerous other platforms, there is an unlimited possibility to select more lines.
Given that our users frequently search using both Danish and English keywords, the seven-line limit is often reached when both languages are used in an 'OR' search.8 votes -
Allow customization of CDI resource types in Resource Type Filter Bar
We are using the Resource Type Filter Bar with general satisfaction, with one major problem. Since Articles and Magazine Articles are separate CDI resource types now, and it isn’t possible to select more than one resource type pre-filter (in Simple or Advanced Search) -- it’s not possible to allow the user to search within both types of articles. There are some magazine articles that seem good to exclude, but there are others that are scholarly sources, even Peer Reviewed, and I fear our users may miss them. Change how permalinks work
The permalinks provided by Primo do not link to a specific Alma record; instead, they save the result of a search in Primo. This means that when we copy a permalink for a title included in a course, what we are doing when using it is initiating a search for that title in the recommended bibliography collection. Therefore, if that title is no longer included in a course, the permalink we had copied stops working. This is not very useful.
We request that the permalinks provided by Primo be truly permanent and always direct to that Alma record, without changes.…18 votes -
Provide option to disable course information being indexed for search in Primo VE
We have chosen not to display course information in our Primo VE but found that local records appear higher in our search results when they are attached to a Leganto reading list. Support tell me that 'it is part of OTB and by default it will be indexed’.
In the ‘Search Section Mapping’ part of the 'Mapping to the Display, Facets, and Search Sections in the Primo VE Record' Knowledge Center page, it says: 'Course information – Primo VE indexs the course name, code, and instructor for records associated with course reading lists.'
