Depending on where the library can obtain a document ordered by interlibrary loan, our patrons have to pay different fees (price categories in our case: 1. from Swiss libraries, 2. from Europe, 3. from overseas). Our patrons should be able to specify in the ILL form up to which category they are willing to pay the costs. Unfortunately, in Primo VE it is only possible to display the field “Maximum fee”, in which patrons can enter any amount they wish. In our experience, customers do not understand the meaning of this field and do not know what to enter there, or they have to visit our website to find out about the price categories. For this reason, we are currently not using the Resource Sharing form in Primo VE and are instead using a separate form in which we can display the price categories as a selection (see print screen). We would like to see the Resource Sharing form in Primo VE extended to include the option of displaying different price categories for users to choose from. It should also be possible to display information on the costs of the service in the form, for example in an info box.
