Temporary item policy and temporary location should be separate settings
When items have a temporary item policy, they often stay within their permanent location. However, in order to add a temporary item policy we have to select "Item is in a temporary location" = yes. Doing this when the item remains in its permanent location causes confusion, both when viewing items in the item display of Alma repository as well as when viewing items in Primo VE, when only some items on a record have a temporary item policy. It looks like it is in a temporary location, when it is not.
Additionally, this effects the display of summary holdings statements in Primo VE. We do not have item records created for all of our serials holdings, so when only a few items are created and put in a temporary location (in order to add a temporary item policy) it causes the record's summary holdings from the 866 field to be superceded by the few items in the temporary location. Again, if only the item policy is temporary, It should be a completely different indication and setting from the item's temporary location and it should not effect the display of summary holdings.
See attached example in Primo VE. We have 3 items with temporary location indication = yes in order to add a temporary item policy. Our summary holdings should be "1946-1955, 1957-1987, 1990-1991, 1993-2009, 2011-" but due to the temporary location indication, this is not displayed. Only the holdings for the items in the temporary location are displayed in the Primo record.
