On-shelf requests for specific user groups
We have limited human resource for picking up the items for on-shelf requests. Therefore, we hope this service is only available for patrons in need, for example, disabled patrons or distinguished professors/researchers.
Therefore, we need Alma to support “specific user groups’ to “request for on-shelf items”, and “pick up in different library/campus only”. It would also be nice if we can limit the number of on-shelf requests in a period of time.
This will definitely help librarians to provide precise service efficiently!

I have the same opinion as Wen-Hsin Lin , In addition to"Allow for pickup anywhere regardless of availability" and "Use fulfillment unit definition", can we have more options, such as " No requesting" on the request Terms of use of On Shelf Request Policy?

thanks for your answer.your policy can resolve the issue that request for the specific user group, but what we also need is it can "pick up in different library/campus only.” it only has two options "Allow for pickup anywhere regardless of availability" and "Use fulfillment unit definition" so far.
is it possible to add the "pick up in different library/campus only.” option to it?

The fulfillment unit may be set up with a policy for requesting available items, see https://www.screencast.com/t/ghrpyOwVOW, for example allowing requesting only for pickup in another campus.
It is possible to override that for specific user groups. This can be done by using the On Shelf Request Policy on the request Terms of Use, see https://www.screencast.com/t/2s1obeNI. This way, you can allow specific user groups to request regardless of the fact that the item is on shelf.
