Alma needs to be able to export holdings records (MFHD)

In addition to the reasons others have already listed, add sharing holdings data with others. Currently in Alma, we have to work around this by embedding specific holdings fields in bib records and publishing these, then either manipulating the output or expecting our partners to pull the holdings data out of these hybrid records.
Alma APIs are an option for small data sets, but not suitable for projects involving tens or hundreds of thousands of records.
Please allow us to export our holdings data in the standard MARC format.

In November 2023 Release we can learn that there is some improvements for Physical Holdings set. But, there is still not possible to export Holdings information as a set. Holdings are MARC data and the possibilities to export these should be the same as for BIB-records. Export Holdings ID and then import back using Match Profile Holdings Id=Holdings ID.
There is things that woud be so mutch easier to do outside Alma with MarcEdit, than find out how to or what kind of normalisation rule shoud be written for different kind of cases. And if something goes wrong ... !!!
With MarcEdit you can start over and import the data when you are sure it's ok. This was a common procedure for us when we were in Voyager (some years ago) -

It is possible to edit holding records with MarcEdit if they could be exported. We were able to do this while we were in Voyager

This would be so useful. I want to use the 'Change Holdings' job to run a normalization rule on a few hundred holdings records but I'm really wary about doing it because we can't export the original records as a backup in case anything went wrong. I know we can test on the sandbox on smaller numbers beforehand but it would still be very useful to have the originals as a backup for an overlaying import.

Agreed. We can export bibs and item but not holdings. Republish holdings is abominable, it republishes every version of the holding that ever existed. Ability to export current version of holding would improve funtionality
