Dark Mode/Theme
Like the title suggest, A dark mode/theme for Alma.
Having the white background can be very sore on the eyes, and many prefer the reverse ( black background / white font ).
As part of our roadmap, we are planning to add a high contrast color scheme each user can switch to when needed.

I've been using experimental browser features (chrome://flags/) to get access to this early... just an FYI if you have access to those, (specifically "Auto Dark Mode for Web Contents" set that to enable.)
Changes all windows to dark mode upon relaunch, not just alma. Obliviously it can cause some issues, but i have other browsers available if i need a non dark environment.

The initial idea was a dark mode, not a high contrast color scheme.

An important wish for implementation:
With Alma August 2024 Release it is possible for users to select the Alma Color Scheme themselves:
https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Release_Notes/2024/Alma_2024_Release_Notes?mon=202408BASE
"User Level Configuration of Alma Color Scheme
The Alma Color Scheme can now be configured on the user level, not just the institutional level. Users will be able for example to select a different color scheme for Production and for Sandbox, for easy differentiation between them."The "Dark mode" option should be a separate functionality, not just another Color Scheme option (because not every library wants to active the Color Scheme option for all users). In addition, further special adjustments are probably necessary for the "Dark mode" display.
Thank you in advance! -

This would be amazing for those with vision issues. Is there an update about this since 2020?

Hi Ex Libris - any updates on a dark mode that was supposedly added to the Roadmap 4 years ago?
As others have said, this isn't just for comfort but is a way of providing equitable access to everyone. -

It's been a few years now; where are we with this? Any plans to implement this at all? My eyes are killing me.

Is this on a roadmap? If yes, when will it be available?

I'm also wondering how far down the roadmap it is. Any updates?

Color scheme options, including high contrast and dark mode, are about more than just comfort. Having these options would greatly improve user accessibility. It's 2022 now, how far out on your roadmap is this planned for? Could we see it before the year ends?

Is there a planned timeframe for development of this feature? Can we expect this to be released in 2021?

Thanks for showing this as a planned item. The most recent Alma roadmap I found was for 2019, and it didn't mention this item,

Can you provide the timeline for this item?

The color scheme of Alma is a bit tough on the eyes. Can you please create a high contrast (black text instead of grey; dark blue instead of middle blue; etc) and/or night mode (black background with white text) option?
