Incorporation of All Indigenous Syllabics from the Canadian Aboriginal Syllabics Unicode Block
I have a case open with Ex Libris (# 00517082) regarding this. Not all Indigenous syllabics render in Alma, and thus, do not render in Primo either. As an important aspect of Canadian Libraries' commitments to Truth and Reconciliation, and as it is UN's International Year of Indigenous Languages, it would be excellent if Ex Libris could prioritize resolving this issue so that we can allow Indigenous users full discoverability of resources in their own languages.
No response received. Idea Exchange is closed.

I recommend reconsidering this enhancement request. As a Canadian academic library, we frequently receive resources that include Indigenous syllabics and have encountered significant challenges when inputting these syllabics into Alma (for example, see Case 07107192 - Inuktitut Syllabics). It is essential that descriptive metadata accurately reflects the diversity of Indigenous peoples and is expressed using the appropriate language, script and terminology as defined by the community.
Languages that we frequently encounter and that are requiring support include Inuktitut, SENĆOŦEN, West-Cree (found in Unified Canadian Aboriginal Syllabics).

As one of my colleagues said, "not displaying a Unicode alphabet is a technical issue that needs urgent correction."
