job to unlink a set of records from the NZ
currently this must be done manually, one by one.

As part of the upcoming February 2017 Release, there will be a new batch job for unlinking a set of bibliographic records from the Network Zone.

This has been under review for over two months now. Is there any update on the status of implementing this idea? Please update us with implementation status.

In addition, we want to unlink from the NZ so that deleted holdings are not reflected in the Primo instances of other libraries linking to the NZ. Managing the expectations of other consortium members regarding the availability of material is what unlinking from the NZ provides.

We know there is a job to suppress a set of records from discovery.
We are requesting a job to *unlink* a set of records from the NZ.
Some institutions keep withdrawn titles in their IZ and don't want them linked to the NZ after they have been withdrawn. We currently do this manually, one by one, and it is extremely inefficient. -
Regarding the ability to suppress records from a member institution - it is possible to do this without requiring un-linking from the shared network zone catalog. It is possible to do this in bulk using the 'Suppress MMS from Discovery' job.

In order to unlink a bib from the NZ, you must open the record in the metadata editor, select File --> copy to catalog. Once the record has been unlinked from the NZ record, a library can then suppress or delete the IZ record.
This is extremely time consuming and should not have to be completed manually. Since there already is a job to link bibs to the NZ, there should be a job to unlink bibs from the NZ.
