Preference CDI Link Resolver records over Link in Record when merging
CDI now merges multiple results for the same article together, but when it does it preferences CDI records with 'Link in Record' rather than displaying the Link Resolver choices under Full Text Availability. The Link in Record articles often lead to indexing sites, not to the publisher where the full text is available. We need a config option where we can preference Subscription (Linkresolver) over Link in Record when merging records in Primo
870 votesThank you for raising this, we are considering this idea as part of the idea “Display both link in record and links from link resolver in CDI” , therefore we are releasing your votes on this idea. The direction is to enable customers to show more links and offer some configuration options to set preferences.
https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308176-primo/suggestions/41346958-display-both-link-in-record-and-links-from-link-reNote that this is not something that we can do in the near future since it is a complex change.

Ability to dedup or FRBR between local data and CDI data
For Primo Central Index data collections, the PCI citation often represents a title that we also hold in our local data. The current inability to dedupe or cluster between PCI and local data means that users will always be presented with two hits when they are on the combined/everything scope.
With the new Central Discovery Index (CDI), we would like the ability to configure a deduping or clustering algorithm such that we only present one hit to the user.
791 votesWe have reviewed this idea carefully and discussed it with Primo working group while estimating NERS enhancements. Currently since there are two separate indexes for local and central data, we do not have any technical solution to fulfill this request. However, with the upcoming NERS 6702 we are trying to reduce the issue caused by books duplication by adding configuration option to exclude ebooks from your CDI results. We have decided to close this idea to release your votes.

Possibillity to add print journal holdings to Primo holdings-file
In Primo only the electronic holdings for e-books and e-journals are taken into consideration when determining the availability for a record/article from the central index (PCI/CDI).
The libraries also have print/physical holdings of journals that can fulfill the needs of the end-user and that can fill gaps in the electronic coverage. If the user search for an article that the library only has as part of the physical journal holdings the availability of the article are set to "Not available" and dependig on the configuration the article might not even show up in the result-list.

As discussed with the Product working groups as part of various NERS discussions, this will require a complete architectural change of the system, which is currently not planned.

Secondary sorting of records in the results list
Primo is designed to sort the results list by one parameter only (relevancy, title etc.).
Currently, it is not possible to define a secondary sort. Thus records with the same ranking will appear in no particular order.
It would be beneficial to be able to configure a secondary and third sort options. For example, first sorting by Relevancy, secondary by Publishing Year and third by Title.576 votesThank you for this idea. We have reviewed the options to support secondary sorting and solution is technically very complex especially supporting it on both local and CDI indexes. In addition this can impact performance. So we have decided to close it and release your points.

bad link reporter
Bad Link Reporter
This tool would work while librarians are searching Primo. An addon tool for Primo that looks at results when the following condition exists: a link is clicked and user gets an error, (no full text available or other Primo error messages) there would be a popup or message asking “report this bad link?”. You click on the button, it goes away allowing librarian to continue their work but clicking the button reports the permalink, search details and bad link error message including eresource used. This option only occurs for library staff. Ordinary users would not see it.

428 votesEarlier this year we have released the Give Us Feedback tool where users can report on broken links or any other issues. Although we do recognize that this idea is more specific to the need of reporting on a broken link as part of user workflow, this suggestion will not be part of our roadmap, therefore we are closing it to release your votes.

Add Jump to Last & Specific Page Options to Primo Search Results Paging Bar
Our users are asking for the option to jump to the last page of the search results in Primo. They would also like to get to a specific page number in the Primo search results paging bar by typing the number in there. First and last page options are basic functionalities of pagers and users expect those.
301 votesThis idea was reviewed and discussed in the past also as part of the NERS evaluation. In the last few years we did few improvements to the pagination area to increase the visibility of the results. We do support now option to jump to specific page number up to the limitation of number of results to show, however the ability to jump to the last page is not in our roadmap.
therefore we have decided to close this idea and release your votes.

Less duplicate records in Primo Central Index results
Primo Central grouping is based on the existing FRBR workflow, including the grouping process at the database level (the way the Search engine handles grouping) and the Front End functionality. It is used to prevent duplicate records in the results list.
Unfortunately, many records are not added to FRBR groups because the system considers the metadata are not rich enough. With the increase of records provided by (Open Access) aggregators and repositories, the number of duplicate records will certainly not decrease.
Could Ex Libris improve the FRBR workflow for Primo Central records in order to reduce the number of duplicate

We are moving this idea to "Closed" to release your votes, as it is no longer relevant with CDI.

The new Give Us Feedback Tool should provide information about the end users IP
Access to electronic resources our library subscribes to is IP-based. If the user's IP address belongs to the university's IP range, they are recognized when they go to the resource and do not experience any access problems. Most of the issues reported to our support team come from students who forgot to turn on the VPN. Adding the IP address information to the feedback message would save us a lot of time in processing such issues.
198 votesHello,
After further examination, this will currently not be part of the coming roadmap.

configure the order of the holdings records in the GetIt tab
It would be very useful to have an option to configure the order of the holdings records to be displayed in Primo (e.g. according to the loan period) as opposed to the current situation where the order is random.
159 votesThere is no plan to support the sort by loan period, recently we have added option to custom your own order of locations - see the "Get It - Custom Order of Locations" in the release notes. We are closing this idea to release your votes. -
Review content type in Primo is confusing
Currently the Review content type in Primo / Primo Central seems to contain both Book Reviews such as
http://shu-primo.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/44SHU_VU1:default_scope:TN_sciversesciencedirect_elsevierS0261-5177(06)00203-2and Review Articles such as
http://shu-primo.hosted.exlibrisgroup.com/44SHU_VU1:default_scope:TN_proquest1373464971It would be better if these were in separate content types.
142 votesHi All,
Indeed we believe that this should be reported as a defect. Therefore we are closing this idea in order to release the votes.

Ability to increase the number of results that are loaded at a time in New UI
Currently, the Primo New UI retrieves 10 search results. It is not possible to increase the number of results.
We would like the ability to configure the number of results that are loaded at a time.94 votesWe view product performance as a top priority, and invest significant effort on optimizing search response time and UI rendering time.
We believe that keeping Primo’s default number of results is important for maintaining high product performance. This configuration also allows us to perform performance testing and measurements.
This request was previously discuss with the Primo Working Group during NERS process, and it was agreed not to proceed in this direction. -
Add "Locate" link to Primo Analytics
We would like to find out how often users are clicking on the Locate item within the Primo VE record to view the map where the item is located; this is the label nui.locations.locate in the ViewIt table. Ex Libris support has confirmed that this link currently cannot be tracked in Primo Analytics because there is not a beacon call associated with the link. We would like to request that the Locate link be added to Primo Analytics tracking.

DEDUP/FRBR data in Primo VE analytics
DEDUP/FRBR data in Primo VE analytics isn't available. It is available in standard Primo.
This would be useful for identifying issues around records that aren't matching.
Apparently Primo PNX records and pipes subject area are not available for Primo VE customers as yet.

Version control system for back office configuration
A version control system for back office configuration tables, pipes, normalization rules etc.
For files like Custom HTML, CSS, JS, PDS etc. we can manage change history and revert to older versions by using version control systems like Git, Subversion etc. For configuration managed via the web back office and database this is not possible, but it is a vital feature of professional system management. This will become more important in a full SaaS environment.60 votesHi All,
As part of a cleanup process, we are moving this to idea to "Closed" to release your votes, as this is not planned to be developed.

Better Primo VE Menu Link Options
Custom menu links in Primo open in a new tabbed window. This is bad behavior. If I go back to the original screen and press the button again, it opens up another window in another tab, and so on.
Desired Behavior:
Menu link goes to address -- does not open a new window or tab. At the very least, it should have be an option for developers. Currently it is hard-coded in the html and not changeable. Using it leads to cluttered browsers.56 votesHello All,

Display on the Location list: textual descriptions of the physical arrangement of a holding unit
Since the updates in January 2021, the Location list has become capable of displaying the Field 866, 852, etc.
There are cases in which the issues of a single journal title are located separately according to publication years. Here we present a case example to explain the situation:
Group 1: The issues published in the last several years; they are shelved in the “New Arrival.”
Group 2: The issues published several years before the Group 1; they are shelved in the “Back Numbers.”
Group 3: The issues published more than 20 years ago; they are shelved in the “Remote Storage.”…

Primo VE: need for an option to Show All Items from a location
An option to show All items from a location should be available in Primo VE.
Currently if you want to display all items from a location, you have to use the 'Show More Items' button several times which can be very excruciating while displaying newspaper's items.49 votesHello All,

Main menu on desktop - let us decide how many links to show
Hi
On desktop, the main menu shows 6 links and then "..." to show the rest.
On desktop, there would be ample space to just show all the links instead of hiding some of them.
https://utk.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?vid=01UTN_KNOXVILLE:01UTK&lang=en
https://union.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?vid=01UCNY_INST:01UCNY_INST&lang=en
https://primo.hope.edu/discovery/search?sortby=rank&vid=01COL_HOPE:HOPE
https://col-westernsem.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?vid=01COL_WTS:WTS&lang=en
On the other hand, maybe a library wants to hide some links behind the "...", but wants to show fewer than 6 links before the dots.
Please make this more flexible.
Thank you
ManuelaOur own main menu is at 6 links at the moment, but we plan to add more links https://basel.swisscovery.org/discovery/search?search_scope=UBS&vid=41SLSP_UBS:live&lang=en

Radio buttons on the Resource Sharing item request form on Primo VE
On the Resource Sharing item request form on Primo VE the 'Citation type' radio buttons can't be altered.
Our library would like for the 'Article' radio button to be first, before the 'Book' option, and for it to be pre-selected as the default.
Also, with the 'Format' radio buttons at the bottom of the form we would like to hide both the 'Physical' and 'Photocopy' buttons, but keep the 'Digital' one visible and selected. This is so that our users are aware that their request will be supplied to them digitally.

Extend the limit on the Summary Holdings Display to more than 10 holdings.
If a title is held at more than 10 locations, its holdings summary will not appear on the Locations page—however, the more locations, the higher demand for checking the range of the coverage. Therefore, please display all summary holdings regardless of the number of holdings.
