Showing Cookies Banner on Primo VE
Legally, websites need to offer users the ability to opt out of cookies by default. Primo VE doesn't offer this or a banner to say that cookies are in use when accessing it.
This should be implemented as it is a legal requirement for us as libraries.

The new Give Us Feedback Tool should provide information about the end users IP
Access to electronic resources our library subscribes to is IP-based. If the user's IP address belongs to the university's IP range, they are recognized when they go to the resource and do not experience any access problems. Most of the issues reported to our support team come from students who forgot to turn on the VPN. Adding the IP address information to the feedback message would save us a lot of time in processing such issues.

Define preferred pickup location in personal details of my account
As a user of a large library network, I usually pick up the books I loan at library Z. When making a request I have to scroll down or use the search function in order to find library Z at the bottom of the very long list of pickup locations.
I would like a new feature, so that I can define my preferred pickup location as library Z in the personal details of my account. So, my preferred pickup location would always be displayed at the very top of the list of pickup locations. Plus, I could see at one…

New tool 'Give us feedback' - allow files to be uploaded
It would be helpful if the new 'Give us feedback' widget allowed users to upload files when reporting issues. Our current in-house widget allows this and we have found it a useful feature.

Extend the limit on the Summary Holdings Display to more than 10 holdings.
If a title is held at more than 10 locations, its holdings summary will not appear on the Locations page—however, the more locations, the higher demand for checking the range of the coverage. Therefore, please display all summary holdings regardless of the number of holdings.

An image means more imformation, it will help us to understand the questions of reader better. Of course, it would be nice if there was an instant chat window.

Resource Recommender
Resource Recommender - It would be great if we can get information on which resource recommender is being used in number of times. For example - we have resource recommenders for the New York Times - would like to see if the resource recommenders for this specific resource are being used. We were hoping to gather that the kind of detail.
Thank you

Add ability to save a record with a label while in the full record (Saved Record with label to My Favorites)
I'm a student reviewing a list of results in Primo for a new assignment. I only have a bit of time right now to start my research, and in this first session I want to save articles which look like they meet my topic. Then I plan to come back on another day when I have more time, to do more detailed assessment of the articles I saved, read the full text, and start writing my assignment. I'm using a label to organise the articles in My Favorites, because I have quite a few topics for several assignments due in…

Indicate the other fields in use for an advanced search in collapsed mode
When a user undertakes an advanced search and chooses dates, language or resource types, those limits are not shown to the user who may forget what they had searched for as they review the results.
The user then makes changes in the collapsed view and not realise that they need to expand it first to change those other fields. At minimum there should be an indication that those fields are in use so they know to expand it again. Ideally those field selections should be shown in the collapsed view.

Searching in the collection discovery: exact search terms
In connection with Collection Discovery, a question has come up regarding usability:
Why is a search of exact search terms set and can we change this?
Example: Searching for the search term "kalender" in our sub-collection "Abschlussarbeiten Buch- und Medienwirtschaft und Publishing Management" of the top level collection "Abschlussarbeiten" does not return any hits. If you search for "kalender*", no hits are found either. However, there are a total of 2 titles with "kalender" in the title.
Can this behaviour be changed/improved? It makes it difficult for our users to access available media and they think we don't have anything…3 votesHello All,

Main menu on desktop - let us decide how many links to show
Hi
On desktop, the main menu shows 6 links and then "..." to show the rest.
On desktop, there would be ample space to just show all the links instead of hiding some of them.
https://utk.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?vid=01UTN_KNOXVILLE:01UTK&lang=en
https://union.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?vid=01UCNY_INST:01UCNY_INST&lang=en
https://primo.hope.edu/discovery/search?sortby=rank&vid=01COL_HOPE:HOPE
https://col-westernsem.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?vid=01COL_WTS:WTS&lang=en
On the other hand, maybe a library wants to hide some links behind the "...", but wants to show fewer than 6 links before the dots.
Please make this more flexible.
Thank you
ManuelaOur own main menu is at 6 links at the moment, but we plan to add more links https://basel.swisscovery.org/discovery/search?search_scope=UBS&vid=41SLSP_UBS:live&lang=en

Ignore 022z when linking to physical holdings
A journal has been accidentally misprinted another journal’s ISSN once and the wrong ISSN is included its bib record in 022z (I believe this description is correct according to MARC21 rules). CDI records of articles with the ISSN in question shows the wrong journal holdings with the ISSN in 022z, because CDI makes a Get It link by not only 022a but also 022z. Because of that, patrons cannot see the correct journal holdings. We think it is necessary to ignore 022z and see only 022a when linking physical holdings.

Preferred record for dedup and frbr to also apply to list of versions
Following the implementation of an earlier idea exchange item that Primo VE should allow to set the preferred record for dedup and frbr records, we would also like this setting to be used for records that you get when viewing the list of versions.
What we are seeing is that only the top level in the brief results applies these settings, but when you go into list of versions to find a specific edition, you then might be presented with either record as the preferred record if you hold both e and print for this edition.
This is what ExLIbris…18 votesHello All,

Integrate Retraction Watch data into CDI article records
We would like to see metadata on retracted articles incorporated to CDI/Primo from the Retraction Watch database (https://retractionwatch.com). While some CDI records indicate in titles that the articles have been retracted, not all do -- this appears to be provider-dependent. Adding a metadata element to indicate retracted status would make it possible to flag retracted articles visibly and consistently, and to create a facet/filter for retracted articles.

Add "Locate" link to Primo Analytics
We would like to find out how often users are clicking on the Locate item within the Primo VE record to view the map where the item is located; this is the label nui.locations.locate in the ViewIt table. Ex Libris support has confirmed that this link currently cannot be tracked in Primo Analytics because there is not a beacon call associated with the link. We would like to request that the Locate link be added to Primo Analytics tracking.

Applying Group by Library function to specific resource type
The April 2022 new function to be able to group locations by library is great, though we would like to apply this only to journals.
For example, when three libraries each hold a certain book, turning on this feature will force patrons to extra click to see the items. Also, it is very inconvenient because availability is not displayed on the library (first appearing) list. We would like to apply it only to journals, as this would be effective for journals that have many volumes and separate locations.16 votesHello All,

Translation of months in date format
It would be useful to be able to translate month names in Primo VE for languages other than English.
Our library sends letters in French and English and would like to be able to configure French translations for our preferred date format. We use the form, e.g., "7 May 2021". The French version of this would be "7 mai 2021". The English month names are currently used in the Primo VE display when the user selects the French display language. It would be nice if this could be done automatically (in the case of Primo VE display language) or by…

Display on the Location list: textual descriptions of the physical arrangement of a holding unit
Since the updates in January 2021, the Location list has become capable of displaying the Field 866, 852, etc.
There are cases in which the issues of a single journal title are located separately according to publication years. Here we present a case example to explain the situation:
Group 1: The issues published in the last several years; they are shelved in the “New Arrival.”
Group 2: The issues published several years before the Group 1; they are shelved in the “Back Numbers.”
Group 3: The issues published more than 20 years ago; they are shelved in the “Remote Storage.”…

TOU should be hidden when users Not logged in.
In Primo VE, when a user is logged in, the TOU according to the user's category is displayed. However, when the user is not logged in, the TOU could be displayed as "Loanable" even if the book is loanable only to faculty members. When the user is not logged in, the TOU should be hidden.

300a (total number of pages) should put in PNX for exporting RIS/Mendeley.
Currently, Primo VE does not export total number of pages of books, which is nessesary for some styles, to RIS and Mendeley. We opened a case and asked Support to fix this, and got the answer following.
”The Product Management team has discussed this further and consider this is an enhancement request. A possible solution is to set a new rule to take, for books only, the pages information from 300a and include it in the PNX addata/pages field."
We thought the total number of pages should be included in PNX. Please support this idea.
