Feature Request: Enhanced Reporting Capabilities for Alma Analytics
Hello Everyone,
I am reaching out to gather insights or suggestions regarding a feature enhancement I would like to see in Alma’s Analytics module. As an institution, we heavily rely on Alma for library management and its robust analytics capabilities. However, we have encountered some challenges with the current reporting options, particularly when it comes to customizing and automating reports.
Currently, while Alma offers a range of predefined reports and queries, our team often needs to create customized reports that pull data across different modules or require specific filtering, which isn’t always straightforward. It would be incredibly helpful if there was an easier way to create reports that combine data from various sources within Alma without having to manually adjust queries each time.
Here are a few ideas that could improve our workflow:
- More Advanced Filtering Options: The ability to apply more granular filters on report results, especially when pulling from complex datasets like circulation, acquisitions, and inventory data.
- Scheduled and Automated Report Generation: A feature that would allow us to schedule and automate the delivery of custom reports to specific stakeholders, saving time and reducing manual intervention.
- Improved User Interface for Report Creation: Streamlining the report-building interface to make it more intuitive and user-friendly for non-technical users, with a more drag-and-drop style setup.

I would love to hear from other institutions who may have similar needs or any tips for achieving these outcomes with the current Alma system. Have any of you faced similar challenges or come up with creative workarounds? I look forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback!
