Ability to combine two or more existing items into a kit without losing POL information
If there's a way to do this, I can't find it.
What I would like to have is to take existing/previously received items (presumably with their own barcodes) and then combine them under one barcode as a kit. In theory, you can use "Bond Items" to do this, but the problem is that you effectively lose your POL receiving info (as well as all other individual item info) from the combined items. In my organization's case, this can cause an issue for the auditing department if the is a question or issue involving one of the merged items since there is no longer a clean trail of the item being ordered, paid for, and received.
It would be fantastic to have a "Kit Builder" function that effectively creates a new bib record for the newly created physical kit as well as a combined item record that can be given its own barcode and still retains the information of each individually purchased item. The combined item record could even calculate the replacement cost of the combined individual elements, fill in the pieces field, and add a fulfillment note.
