Alma MDE: Filter by Marc21 field and subfield
As a cataloger I would like to have the possibility in MDE to filter the Marc21 data by field and subfield
value to have a better overview over the current part of the data which is to be checked/edited.
Further I would like to have the possibility to quick access filters which i use often.
Proposal:
Add a possibility to filter by field and subfield, e.g. by having an input form for the Marc21
field (rows filtered by "Begins with {value}") and for the Marc21 subfield (rows filtered by
"Contains {value}"). The filtering should by done by "AND" condition. (See attached screenshot for an example of how it could look).
Add a possibility to quick access filters. e.g. by having a list of the latest used filters from
which the user can choose or by letting the user save the current filter to a list.
This requested capability is currently supported when using the new custom bibliographic search indexes with a subfield delimiter in Advanced Search, allowing you to further refine the query. When searching a 650 field with a phrase such as "$a (RERO)" using the Contains Phrase operator, the search is interpreted as looking for values that start with "(RERO)" in subfield a. In contrast, the Contains Keywords operator searches for the specified term anywhere within subfield a.
If your goal is to limit the results to MARC21 records only, you can use the Record Format index with the value MARC21, which will filter out records in all other formats. In addition, the AND logical operator can be used between search indexes in Alma Advanced Search to further constrain the results.
