Provide User Preferred Name option to Resource Sharing Partners
Currently Alma supports User Preferred Names within Alma. We would like to extend this information to our Resource Sharing partners so that any communication on the partner's end to our patrons refers to our patrons preferred name if so defined just like it is handled in Alma.
It would be preferable that on a partner by partner configuration that we could select what user's names are used in NCIP communication.
Option 1. Name (this is how Alma is currently setup now).
Option 2. Preferred Name (this would use the preferred name instead of the name in the NCIP response when a preferred name is available - just like Alma's interface works).
Option 3. Both (this would use both the user's name and preferred name in the NCIP response with the name being listed first and preferred name listed 2nd).
This setup would allow our Resource Sharing partners to address our users how they wish to be addressed and also allow for Resource Sharing partners to have both the user's name and preferred name in their system if their system is able to handle this.
