Prevent duplicate storage location IDs
When you duplicate a physical item, the copy ID and inventory number and barcode are treated as unique and therefore not duplicated. We would like a configuration setting to treat the storage location ID as unique as well. Staff often duplicate existing items when adding new items since many of the fields are the same, but they sometimes forget to delete the storage ID when duplicating. Our storage management uses unique IDs like a barcode and these duplicates cause problems.

Our Storage Location IDs represent boxes containing multiple items and as such are not unique. This change would require us to move the value of the Storage Location ID field to an Internal Note field.
