POL cancelled
Cancelled POL and Tag Suppressed (Title)
On order items display to the public, the ordered item displays as "checked out" and the status is "On order until ...". However, when an order is cancelled for whatever reason, the display changes to "Check holdings" and a message regarding no physical resources... appears in the public display. This is rather disconcerting for the patrons - and staff.
As a Catalog manager, I am queried about such displays and then suppress the bibliographic record from Discovery.
I would like to request that when the POL status is changed to "cancelled" a message comes up asking the Acquisitions staff member setting the status whether the bibliographic record 'Set Management Tags > Suppress from Discovery' should be checked. Or allow the staff member to place the bib into a workflow to check for that purpose. It is not an easy task to find these bib records once the POL is cancelled and I generally end up sorting through a list of cancelled titles to find records without inventory, although in Analytics it is an option to select without inventory, I still get records with a cancelled POL and inventory. If the suppression is completed at the time of cancellation, it would solve this issue.
