Add URL to einventory analytics for both electronic collections and portfolios
Generating a list of URLs that relate to either portfolios or electronic collections would be hugely useful. The Export URLs job that currently exists in Alma doesn't attribute URLs to resources, and also isn't complete (can't handle parser details).
Completed as part of Alma December release:
Electronic inventory information including URL was added to the E-Inventory subject area

Without the complete URL, we are unable to run a link checker on our electronic collections. That was one the main reasons I was looking forward to this.

I wouldn't want the idea to be ignored if they can't do the literal URL for parser parameter versions so I would agree with Yoel's field choices. It would be really nice if they could, but I understand if they cannot.

Hi Ben, I don't think Analytics would have the ability to 'calculate' a final URL though from the parser and parser parameters. Analytics pulls out static data only. I'm concerned that if we demanded final URLs, ExLibris would say that it's not possible and move on.

To clarify, I think it is imperative that the link should be the literal final URL that the user is sent to. For one, this would allow us to match vendor provided entitlement lists by URL and second, we would be able to export the list out to an HTML page, on another system like LibGuides, to create lists of resources that contain the URL to the title.

Hi Yoel, yes this is exactly what we would like included in Analytics.
Thanks! -
Hello.
We want to clarify exactly what you want regarding the portfolio and collection URL.
Do you want as follows? If the URL is type "Static URL" or "Dynamic URL"( as defined in the 'Linking Information' tab of the portfolio / collection editor) then include the following in Alma Analytics
1. Static URL
2. Dynamic URLIf the URL is type "Parser parameters" ( as defined in the 'Linking Information' tab of the portfolio / collection editor) then include the following fields:
1. Parser (service level)
2. Service parser parameters
3. Parser parameters (override)
4. parser parameters -
