  1. Create an out-of-the-box 'E and E' consortia overlap report

    It would be very much appreciated if Alma creates an out-of-the-box report that outputs E and E title overlap in a consortium.

  2. Make Alma recognize "Primary Identifier" when creating a set of users

    Every time anyone creates an Analytics report on users, if they want it to be usable in Alma via "Create Set," they have to rename the first column of the Analytics report to "Username," which is not a field in the Users subject area in Analytics.

    Make the Alma UI accept "Primary Identifier" as a recognized unique identifier so that we can use it to pull User sets from Analytics into Alma.

  3. Print slips for requests should have copyable Request IDs

    Our fulfillment staff are alarmed at the amount of paper that requests (both digitization and physical) generates in the form of print slips. We're always looking for ways to minimize our impact on the environment.

    They were able to work out a largely digital-only workflow by "printing" the request slips to PDF and using a laptop on a cart to retrieve the physical items. But they are stuck on having to enter the Request ID into Alma.

    Barcode scanners won't scan the barcode for the Request ID from the computer monitor, and even though the Request ID field looks like…

  5. Do not automatically activate Open Access electronic collections

    When new Open Access collections are introduced to Alma, allow the institution to decide if they want to activate the electronic collection, rather than automatically activating it.

  6. Option to rank order in which manual jobs run

    We have had issues with small activation jobs (15 portfolios) having to wait and wait and wait while large jobs (60,000 portfolios) run very slowly. These small jobs could run very quickly if the large job were paused and the small jobs done first. Could an option be created to allow customers to choose to prioritize small jobs over large instead of prioritizing whichever job was queued first?

  7. Allow Community Zone updates to push silently behind Local Overrides/Exceptions

    When we discover that a portfolio or collection has a linking or coverage date problem, we report it to Ex Libris ASAP so updates can be made to the collective. While waiting for them to fix an issue at the CKB level, we put in place a local linking override so our users can access the content for which we pay. We would like to be able to retain access to resources with as few gaps in services as possible.

    To go back to the CZ linking or coverage once a fix has been declared, we currently have to remove…

    Electronic resources have global fields that are maintained by Ex libris and local overides fields that are maintained by the customer.
    Any changes Ex libris makes to the electronic resources are made to the global fields and are pushed automaticly and reported in the CZ update task list, the overides still take effect until they are deleted.
    if you have any local overides the CZ update task list will prompt you to remove them so the global fields will take effect.

  8. Add roles to a user with the same roles as an already created user

    Many times we need to add a user with the same roles already created in another user.
    Alma should allow copying of all roles from one user to another.

  9. Import internal patrons from a spreadsheet

    Bulk import internal patrons from a spreadsheet.

    We have high school students in our campus that are not yet taking college courses, but do use our library to check out materials. Every Fall semester we will be manually adding this students into Alma. It would be helpful to import these students in bulk.

  10. 008 MARC field in authority records

    MARC 008 in authority records is not expandable and makes it nearly impossible to identify the appropriate codes with the information they carry. It would very helpful to have the functionality of opening/expanding the 008 string in all authority records (subjects, names, genre, demographic terms)

  11. Enable renewal of interlibrary loans via My Library Account

    It is confusing to users that they can renew some items on loan to them via My Library Account, but not inter-library loans. We would like a configurable Renew option available for inter-library loans in My Library Account. If a user clicked this option, the request for renewal from the user would populate a tasklist in Alma for resource sharing staff to action. If staff proceed to request a renewal from the lending partner, the workflow should connect so that the response and the updated due date flows back through to My Library Account.   12. MARC field 382 should be searchable

    The MARC field 382 (Medium of performance) should be searchable in Alma and Primo. The problem is acute for Finnish music libraries in Alma, because the field contains information about the instruments and/or voices in composition, but the field is not indexed in Alma. We had last autumn in Finland a large-scale subject headings conversion that greatly increased the amount of 382 fields. Then we were still in Voyager where the field is searchable. We hope that it would be so also in Alma.

  13. Add ORCID ID to CZ Authorities vocabularies search

    Field 0247 $$a XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX $$2 orcid used in authority records and is currently not searchable in CZ authority vocabularies.
    Using a unique identifier when searching for name authority records will improve the precision of authority search results. It would also save the time and effort currently invested in establishing the correlation between a name and its authority record.

  14. Have a pop-up when you log in to Alma that tells you your current location

    My team split their time between acquisitions/cataloguing and our circulation desk. They often complain that they forgot to change their location. We would like a pop up that appears as soon as you log in to Alma saying " Your current location is (e.g.) Acqs Dept - would you like to change it?"

  15. Add Disencumbrances to the Funds Expenditure SA of Analytics

    Sometimes, you need to figure out instances where the release remaining encumbrance box was not checked off when paying an invoice. It would be a lot easier to identify these if there were a way to easily compare encumbrances and disencumbrances side by side. You can see expenditure and encumbrance transaction amounts, adding in disencumbrances would be useful.

    Hi this is being changed to “already supported”.
    The idea states: “You can see expenditure and encumbrance transaction amounts, adding in disencumbrances would be useful.”
    We respond: It is possible to see disencumbrances by using fieed “Transaction Item Sub Type” in the “Fund Transaction Details folder” of the “Funds Expenditure” subject area and filter by “disencumbrance”. Then display the “Transaction Amount” from the “Fund Transactions” folder. See two attached pictures.

  16. Allow Options for Loan Display, either "Loans of this session" or "All loans"

    In Fulfillment > Manage Patron Services > [patron] > Loans tab, currently the loan display can only default to "Loans of this session". "All loans" is a more useful display for our purposes and we would like to be able to set it as the default, but that is not possible.

  18. API for fetching datetime for Alma Analytics data

    Add an API call to fetch the value of the two datetime objects that can be seen in Alma GUI:

    • Data available as of
    • Data updated as of

    This will make it much easier for jobs that run daily and that is dependent on Alma Analytics data and that needs to be run as early as possible.

  19. Number of Loans: Ability to Sort By & Export to Excel

    It would be so helpful to have access to Number of Loans in Data we can export to Excel. In addition, being able to sort by the highest to lowest or vice versa Number of Loans data in a search would also be very helpful as a collections librarian. We need more data to support or decide upon what we purchase. Alma has all the data but limited access to it from the permission level I have as a librarian.

  20. Link approved purchase request to POL

    Many of our Purchase Requests contain notes and comments that are useful in tracing purchase history and resolving issues. It would be useful to be able to open the Purchase Request from within a POL to access this information.

    Dear Steve,
    Thanks for taking the time to share this idea. I’m glad to say that this is already supported and each PO line hold within it the “Additional” section where you can find the “Source type” field. When the source type field is “Purchase Request” it is linkable and direct the user to the purchase request which generated the PO line in view mode (including it’s notes if exists). Please see attached screen shot which present the link on the PO line to the purchase request.
