    Dear Community,

This is to update you that we plan to enhance the "Update PO Lines Information" job in a future Alma release. We plan to add 19 new fields to this job:

    Additional PO line reference field
    Cancellation Restriction
    Cancellation Restriction Note
    Add labels
    Remove labels
    Create new label
    Reclaim interval
    Subscription interval
    Note to vendor

    Vendor reference number type
    Routing during receiving
    Binding during receiving
    Activation note
    Renewal date
    Subscription from
    Subscription to
    Renewal reminder period (days)
    Renewal note
    Internal note

In addition, the job form will be divided into sections, allowing to easily locate the required field/s to update.

Please follow up on Alma Release Notes for update on this development.

    Best wishes,

    Zohar Shemesh

Alma Product Team, I see this is planned, which is very exciting! As you are working on adding fields to the Update PO Lines information job, would it also be possible to add Associate PO Line to this job? See my post https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173-alma/suggestions/47704817-add-associated-po-line-field-to-new-order-import-p . Here is the use case:

We made a large prepayment (the parent POL), and now we are creating technical orders (the child POLs) for all the items we chose to purchase with that pre-payment. We need each of the child POLs to have the parent POL as its Associated PO Line. We can create the child POLs in a batch using a New Order Import Profile. However, we have no way to batch-assign the Associated PO Line to all the child POLs. The New Order Import Profile does not have an Additional PO Line field, and the PO Line jobs in Alma do not include the ability to add or update an Associated PO Line. So, there is no way to add an Associated PO Line aside from manually editing each individual PO Line. This is a lot of manual work.

So, as you're already working on adding fields to the Update PO Line Information job, could you also add a field for Associated PO Line?

    Thanks for considering this!

I'm supporting this idea, as Rutgers (and the whole BTAA consortium) has purchased the South Asian History and Culture module. Adding these collections to the CZ would increase the geographic and cultural diversity of CZ content. There already are multiple Coherent Digital collections in the CZ (a CZ search for interface name Coherent Digital has 8 results), so we're hoping Ex Libris will be able to work with this established provider partner on this case. Because these are primary source archives, I suspect that CDI link in record collections may be the best way to represent these collections in Ex Libris systems, as bibs and portfolios tend to only work well with resources with identifiers, such as books (ISBN) and journals (ISSN). So, if you could create link in record records for the primary source materials, and then if you want to create portfolios and MARCs too, please only create them for the materials with real identifiers. Thank you!

My library is purchasing this resource as well, so we would like it to be added to the Alma CZ as an electronic collection with portfolios. HeinOnline is an established provider-partner of Ex Libris with many collections in the CZ, so we hope this will be a simple process!

Rachel, thank you for reaching out to East View to obtain the metadata for this collection! Please also work to load enriched bib records for this collection--Miri in Ex Libris Support was able to load detailed bib records for other Global Press Archive collections for us (see my Support ticket 05323957), so if you could follow her process to load detailed records for this collection too, that would be great!

    Hello,

We are planning to add the collections by end of May 2024.

There were a few changes to the feed so it takes longer than expected.

    Kind regards,

    Tamar

We request that Ex Libris add electronic collections for content on the Africa Commons platform (https://coherentdigital.net/africacommons) by Coherent Digital.

Coherent Digital already has some content in the KB (Alma Electronic Collection ID 614930000000000295, Policy Commons), so I am marking this an Existing Provider Request.

Africa Commons contains digitized primary source content (books, magazines, newspapers, ephemera, films, etc) published in Africa, much of which has never been available digitally before. This collection will thus improve the geographic and cultural diversity of Ex Libris content.

Currently, a total of four collections are available on the platform:
    Africa Commons: History and Culture
    Black South African Magazines
    Southern African Films and Documentaries
    The Hilary Ng’weno Archive

Because these are primary source materials, we suspect they may work best as CDI link in record collections. However, for the collections with substantial journal runs (Black South African Magazines and The Hilary Ng’weno Archive) , if those journals have ISSNs and coverage dates in KBART files, it might be possible to load them as KB collections.

I recently attended an Africa Commons webinar with Coherent Digital representatives Lenny Rogers (lennyrogers@coherentdigital.net), Elizabeth Robey (erobey@coherentdigital.net), and Yoomna Rahim (yrahim@coherentdigital.net). I recommend reaching out to them, as they are eager to share their files with discovery vendors. I recommend reaching out to them to obtain the files for these collections.

Thanks to Lesli for the instructions in her comment of July 28, 2022 on how to create repropt buttons when there are or aren't any results; I was able to follow the instructions and create the buttons!

I'd like to note that it is possible to make many linking parser parameters changes for multiple collections at the same time using the Change Electronic Collection Information Job, including setting the parser and parser parameters. That being said, the example given in the Idea Exchange Request, swapping out the ProQuest ClientID is not one of them (probably because the job only includes fields common to all collections, and different services require different IDs). I'm not sure if Ex Libris could make it possible to batch edit the ID fields that are not common to all collections/services. If they were to implement such a feature, I would hope they would add it to the Change Electronic Collection Information Job too.

This feature has been released as "Control the Availability of Portfolios Automatically at a Pre-defined Date," introduced in the February 2023 release (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Release_Notes/2023/Alma_2023_Release_Notes?mon=202302BASE), allows libraries to enter an Available From Date and Available To Date in portfolios, and the portfolio will be automatically deactivated after the Available To Date.

However, it still does not have all the functionality required. To improve this feature, please vote for the following new ideas:

Make "Available To Date" actions customizable so portfolio can be automatically deleted after "Available To Date"

Make is possible to display Available From Date and Available To Date to users in Primo
