Add Africa Commons from Coherent Digital
Please add the Africa Commons collection, along with the modules listed below, to Alma's Community Zone. These collections directly support diversity by making available historically significant resources created by and for Black audiences.
Africa Commons: https://africacommons.net/
-History and Culture: https://africacommons.net/modules/history-and-culture/
-Black South African Magazines: https://africacommons.net/modules/black-south-african-magazines/
Southern African Films and Documentaries:https://africacommons.net/modules/southern-african-films-and-documentaries/
Here is the general contact email: information@coherentdigital.net
Thank you!
Hello,
We are planning to add the collections by end of May 2024.
There were a few changes to the feed so it takes longer than expected.
Kind regards,
Tamar

Hello Tamar,
Thank you for creating the CZ collections for this product. Do you also plan to add full enriched MARC records? If so, can you please provide a timeline on it?
Thank you for your support!

Even added these requested databases as 0-title databases for ERM purposes in the 360 Client Center would be appreciated.

We request that Ex Libris add electronic collections for content on the Africa Commons platform (https://coherentdigital.net/africacommons) by Coherent Digital.
Coherent Digital already has some content in the KB (Alma Electronic Collection ID 614930000000000295, Policy Commons), so I am marking this an Existing Provider Request.
Africa Commons contains digitized primary source content (books, magazines, newspapers, ephemera, films, etc) published in Africa, much of which has never been available digitally before. This collection will thus improve the geographic and cultural diversity of Ex Libris content.
Currently, a total of four collections are available on the platform:
Africa Commons: History and Culture
Black South African Magazines
Southern African Films and Documentaries
The Hilary Ng’weno ArchiveBecause these are primary source materials, we suspect they may work best as CDI link in record collections. However, for the collections with substantial journal runs (Black South African Magazines and The Hilary Ng’weno Archive) , if those journals have ISSNs and coverage dates in KBART files, it might be possible to load them as KB collections.
I recently attended an Africa Commons webinar with Coherent Digital representatives Lenny Rogers (lennyrogers@coherentdigital.net), Elizabeth Robey (erobey@coherentdigital.net), and Yoomna Rahim (yrahim@coherentdigital.net). I recommend reaching out to them, as they are eager to share their files with discovery vendors. I recommend reaching out to them to obtain the files for these collections.
