Content

We welcome your ideas for new content (metadata) to add to the Knowledge Bases (KBs - Alma CZ, SFX, 360) and Discovery services (CDI - Central Discovery Index whose data supports Primo and Summon).

How to increase your idea's visibility and get more votes:
  1. Check if your idea has already been posted and vote for it before posting a new idea.
  2. Choose the right category: "New Provider" for content from a provider that has no available content in the KBs or CDI, or "Existing Provider" for content from a provider that already has content available in the KBs or CDI.
  3. Add a direct link to the provider/resource you suggest, and a contact person if possible.
  4. For enrichment requests add the relevant collection ID(s).
  5. Make sure you mention any specific added value your idea has to the community such as language or supporting diversity.
  6. Did you find errors in an existing collection? please open a case.
  7. A new year has begun but no corresponding annual collection? post an idea in Idea Exchange, make sure to mention if it is an existing provider.

The categories for new content ideas are:
  1. Existing Provider - if your idea is for a new collection from a provider that already has content available in the KBs and CDI or enriching records for an existing collection, use this category. No voting is necessary, ideas for existing providers will be handled regardless of voting.
  2. New Providers - if your idea is for content from a provider that does not have any content available in the KBs and CDI, choose this category. The ideas for new providers will be annually prioritized via the CERV process.
  3. Other - for non provider specific ideas

If you want to add an institutional repository, please open a case and follow the documentation here:

**Please be aware that ideas with no comments or votes for the past three years, and have less than 30 votes, will be closed. The closed ideas will still be available for review, and the votes will be freed up for supporting other content ideas.

    Hello,

Cambridge UP provides us with enrichment files on a monthly basis. These records may be newer additions and therefore might not have been enriched by the current feed yet.

Overall, the average Bib ranking for this collection is 87.35, which is considered good. Since most records in this collection are of high quality and these cases appear to be exceptions, I believe this issue should be reported via a support ticket, as it seems to be a specific error rather than an indication that a new enrichment feed is needed.

I kindly ask you to open a support ticket and appreciate your continued efforts in maintaining the high quality of the CZ.

Please share the case number with me so I can follow up on the analysis of these titles.

    Kind regards,

"Arcoíris en una ráfaga de viento"

I see other publications by this provider in various collections but would love to see this freely available ebook added.

    Hello,

This resource could be added to the Community Zone collection: Miscellaneous Free eBooks – collection ID 611000000000001091.

  4. Oxford University Press Law Trove 2025 Complete Plus Criminology European Version

I can see that Tamar expects the title list to be available towards the end of 2025 Q3. We have the list now :-) I'm raising this specifically as a request for the European version as I think that took longer to create in 2024 so I'm hoping it can be released simultaneously with the non-European one. Thank you.

  6. Docuseek Canadian Collection

Please update the content in the Docuseek Canadian Collection (FBCOY). According to Docuseek, we are subscribed to 3201 portfolios in their collection and only have access to 2455 through this package (and 383 through a different collection, which is fine). The CZ collection only has 2455 titles.

    Hello,

Following our discussion with the provider, the appropriate solution would be to add these reports as portfolios within the collection ARL Publications, Collection ID: 614900000000001230.

The titles would be updated by end of January 2026.

The separate annual reports will be removed as stand-alone databases.

    Kind regards,

    Tamar

  8. BookRail paired fields

The provider BookRail has a large catch-all CZ collection (613450000000000025). We're making selective purchases and managing them via the CZ. The vendor is able to provide romanized author/title fields in the title lists that they send to us, but those fields are not part of the metadata available in the CZ records. We'd love it if Ex Libris could work with the provider to see if they could provide romanized paired fields for all titles in that collection and update the records accordingly.

    Hello,

We have received the following response from BookRail: They confirmed that they are currently unable to provide complete Romanized metadata (titles and author names) for all books in the collection. Only a portion of the metadata is available at this time, and it will take additional time for them to complete the updates.

We will continue to monitor this and follow up with the provider when further updates become available.

  9. DEAD SEA SCROLLS ELECTRONIC LIBRARY (Brill)

Please create a new electronic collection DEAD SEA SCROLLS ELECTRONIC LIBRARY with the URL https://scholarlyeditions.brill.com/library/urn:cts:ancJewLit:dss

    • Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library Non-Biblical Texts
    • Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library Biblical Texts
    • Codex Leningradensis

The individual parts can already be found in Alma, but not as part of the "Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library" yet.

    Hello,

Brill has confirmed that the following resources are sold individually, not as part of a bundle:

    • Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library: Non-Biblical Texts
    • Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library: Biblical Texts

Accordingly, there is no title list available for a combined “bundle,” and each resource must be activated separately from Brill’s Scholarly Editions Collection (Collection ID: 615460000000000307).

Brill also confirmed that there are no separate details available for Codex Leningradensis, as it is an add-on to the Dead Sea Scrolls Electronic Library Biblical text, and is not sold independently.

Therefore, we will not be creating a new collection as you suggested.

    Hello,

The use case for adding an AI tool as a collection in the Alma CZ is unclear.

Since it is neither a resource that qualifies as a collection or database, nor does it provide curated or managed content, it seems more appropriate to treat it as a research tool to be added locally—either within the IZ or on a library webpage.

If you have a different perspective, please feel free to contact me directly at

    Hello,

De Gruyter does not have a title list for this book series so we cannot represent it as a stand-alone collection.

The book series volumes are available in the following collection and need to be activated through this collection:

  12. EBSCOhost Publicly Available eBooks

From what I can tell, titles in the Publicly Available eBooks List (see attached file) are only available in the EBSCOhost eBooks collection. They do not appear to be available in the EBSCOhost eBook Open Access collection.

Is it possible that these publicly available titles can be added to the Open Access collection or, if not appropriate, put into their own separate collection? This helps by allowing Alma users to keep freely available/OA titles separate from purchased content if they wish.

    Hello,

Wiley will not provide us with a stand-alone database metadata for this resource, and they advised that activating this through Wiley Digital Archive - Environmental Science and History collection (DBID: BDYDR, collection ID: 5400000000000436) would provide the CDI records in the Discovery layer.

  18. Enrich CZ MARC records for CRL (Center for Research Libraries) collections

CRL (Center for Research Libraries) has provided metadata to Ex Libris, which has been used to create CZ collections with MARC bibliographic records and portfolios. However, these collections have very poor MARC bibliographic metadata. I suspect they were created by KBART file uploads. Because many of the resources in these collections are older digitized materials, they lack identifiers such as ISSNs and ISBNs and are thus unlikely to join to robust existing CZ records (nor are they likely to be overlaid by provide record loads or CONSER records).

Could Ex Libris please work with CRL to enrich the MARC bibliographic…

    Hello,

We recently explored this option, and received a response from CRL in February 2025 stating that CRL is not interested in providing CRL MARC records for bibliographic enrichment at this time. It would not be in keeping with agreements they have in place.

Therefore we will not be able to enrich these collections.

    Hello,

After further discussions with Liverpool UP, it appears that here are currently no plans to offer a product specifically designed for managing archival rights, so there is no title list to support a separate archival collection.

The titles are available in the Liverpool University Press collection (Collection ID: 612420000000000023) with the following coverage:

    • French Studies Bulletin (ISSN: 1748-9180), available from 1981 (Vol. 1)
    • French Studies (ISSN: 1468-2931), available from 1947 (Vol. 1)
