Dear colleagues,
Thank you for raising this idea.
This was part of the CERV cycle in 2025, but did not make it to the final list.
During the analysis, 3 possible approaches were discussed, each has a different estimation and effort:
Option 1: New dedicated process type
- It will be possible to mark specific items as "unavailable", similarly to the way it is possible to mark them as "missing"
- Items marked as "unavailable" will be considered as "not in place"
- The new "unavailable" option will appear as a possible process type in all the places where there is a list of process types, including configuration options such as Fulfillment Unit Rules
Option 2: Mark a location as "unavailable"
- It will be possible to mark a location as "unavailable"
- All items in this location will be considered as "not in place"
- The difference from option 1 is that when an item…

I agree with Virginia. Getting notifications for full loads, in addition to mapping updates, would be very helpful.

Scenario: Student views account information on their library account and sees that they have a stack of books overdue. They can see that they have $2 in fines. They come to return the books and pay their fine. Once they return their books, the $50 of accrued fines move into active fines. The customer came expecting to pay $2 but now owes $52. They are very unhappy and asks why their account didn't show them how much they owe until after they returned their items.
As demonstrated in the scenario and description of this idea, this information directly and financially impacts the customer. It puts the library in a difficult position because the information is not made available to the customer. Having this be available on the My Account overview page and the fines and fees page would provide necessary transparency with students about their potential fines.
Having this available as an API as well as the text being editable as a label would be useful.

In addition to job category, it would be helpful to add first and last name. Looking at a list of ID numbers is not helpful. This would increase efficiency and compliance.
