  2. How many clicks a banner has

Wouldn't it be great if we knew how many clicks banners go? How successful is a campaign?

  3. Make fingerprint login time-out configurable

The new fingerprint functionality allows you to enable/disable fingerprint sign in to the app, based on the fingerprints stored in your mobile devices (if available). The annoying behavior for this, is that it will ask you to re-fingerprint every time you get back to the app (e.g. switch to another app, and get back to CampusM 2 seconds later re-triggers fingerprint).

Please allow for a configurable time-out timer during which re-authentication with fingerprint will not be necessary.

  4. Automate replication of content & AEK between environments

To maintain a robust test strategy we need to replicate our current live enviroment onto our test environment however the only way to do that is through a manual process. If this could be automated it would be a far quicker and simpler way to keep environments aligned and up to date

  5. External authentication for App Manager

As an app manager administrator, I would like to be able to configure the app manager to use an external authentication store (e.g. AD), so that I don't have to maintain a separate user list just for the app manager

It should be possible to use an external authentication store for access to the App Manager (https://portal.ombiel.co.uk/)

Having to maintain a user list in oMbiel's DB as well as our main user store (AD) is both a pain and a potential security risk.

Suggest at least LDAP provision, but should also consider Shibboleth and similar (Open Auth etc.)

  6. Enable notifications to be sent either as push or non-push notification

Currently push notifications can either be enable, or disabled. If they are enabled, then ALL notifications are pushed (i.e. showing up on lock screen), if disabled, then ALL sent out notifications are in-app notifications (only showing in the tile counter when you open the app). It would be good to have a setting while creating a notification where you could select to either send it out as a push notification, or send it out as an in-app notification.

  7. Home Page Banners - Swipe interface

As an app user, I would like to be able to swipe through banners, so that I don't have to wait for a specific banner to come around again before I can select it

As well as just having the banners scroll through in a defined order - give users the ability to 'swipe' through them, rather than waiting for a banner to come around again.

  8. Analytics on Personalization

Now that users have the ability to hide tiles, we would like to see analytics on what tiles users (by role) have chosen to hide. IF we find that majority of our users have hidden specific tiles then we know its not important and we can choose to eliminate them. This is important for Feed/banner type tiles where user action (clicks) is not always necessary so tracking 'clicks' will not give you full picture of users that look at these tiles.

  9. Make AEKs front-end configurable pages

Changes to AEKs currently require modification from Ex Libris. It would be helpful if AEKs would for the content-part of the pages would become manageable from within the App Manager. This would allow customers to modify text, edit links, change background pictures etc. without affecting the Integrations of the AEKs.

  10. Ability to remove/hide search/share/feedback functionality

there is currently no way to remove or hide the native search, share, or feedback functionality. We would like to have the ability to remove or hide these native functionalities altogether, as the University has its own search and feedback mechanisms. Having these native CampusM functions always visible increases confusion with students, and ensure difficulty with our business processes, as we have to manage more different sources/functionalities for students.

  11. Send notifications to list of e-mail addresses / student names

Please look into the possibility of optimising the notification functionality, so that notifications can easily be sent to individuals based on name / Id / e-mail address, rather than groups. The only way to currently do this is to manually search for a name / e-mail, and add users 1 by 1, but we'd like the ability to do this as a bulk add, based on a list of multiple inputs.

  12. Add option of using OAuth as an authentication method

We would like to see the introduction of OAuth as a method of authentication for the Portal and mobile apps in addition to SAML and LDAPS.

OAuth provides a method for users to grant third-party access to their resources without sharing their passwords. It also provides a way to grant limited access (in scope, duration, etc.).

OAuth also offers direct handling of non-website services. OAuth has built-in support for desktop applications, mobile devices, set-top boxes, and of course websites.

We believe it may offer a solution to our issue of having to run both SAML authentication for our portal/desktop site…

  13. The timetable app should send a push notification 10 min before a lecture

If someone does not want to add lecture events to their personal calendar, or for some reason unable to do so. The app should be able to send out a notification that a lecture will start in X min, with it should be the lecture name ID and location.

  14. Allow the sendAlert API to set an alert expiry date/time.

Allow the sendAlert API to set an alert expiry date/time so that we can expire an alert after, say seven days or ten days and the user does not have to remove the alert themselves or end up with loads of old alerts .

  15. Ability to upload a spreadsheet into AppManager to set alert population

In App Manager Alert Group subscriptions page

    https://appmanager.ombiel.com/notifications/CampusM/alertgroupsubscriptions

You can currently select people individually or as a whole ALL group.
It would be much more practical to be able to upload a spreadsheet of email addresses to add to the group.

We often have campaigns or targeted groups that may contain up to 10,000 subscriptions but this is not ALL of the group and searching through the list for 10,000 specific emails is not practical.

Could you amend this method to allow upload of files which would solve a big problem for us.

    Thanks
    Claire

  17. notification groups

we are in the process of integrating our emergency messaging platform to campusm so any message sent in an emergency will be pushed to "notification/alerts" within campusm. The limitation is getting membership into notification group, as a community college we have large population of students changes almost on a daily basis so it is not feasible to add students to groups manually.

we would like to have group enrollment be dynamic, tied to "roles" so membership is maintained without human intervention

  18. Enhanced Search facility

As an app user, I would like be able to search across a specific set of content and see more details in the results, so that I am presented with more meaningful results

    1) New custom URL scheme that will allow you to launch an enhanced search screen from anywhere (menu options, AEK pages etc.)

    2) In the enhanced search, the results need to be styled and provide more details (i.e. result cards)

The enhanced search could be an alternative to the existing main search that covers all the content in the app (locations, pocket guides, alerts etc.) but we originally thought…

  19. Enable deep-linking to AEK and pocket guide pages via SSO

We need to link to pocket guide pages and AEK content from external websites.

Deep-linking to the web interface doesn't work if the user isn't already logged into CampusM. We need links to survive an SSO authentication step.

  20. Overhaul UI/Features for Alerts

The current UI for Alerts could improved dramatically to allow dynamic group creation.

A great example of an intuitive UI for communication is:

    http://www.whispir.com

This is an SMS based communication platform but the UI could work the same.

The second part of this work should include the ability to create on the fly role/attribute based groups to send alerts to. At the moment the process for creating a group is too complicated and not straight forward enough for administrators to do.

    Thanks,

    Liam Bennett
