  1. Advanced Search in Primo PI

There is no Advanced Search possibility in the Primo PI when using a smartphone in portrait mode. The Advanced Search feature is however accessible when using the smartphone in landscape mode or a tablet, i.e. when screens are a bit larger.

Please note that Advanced Search is accessible by default when using Primo UI in responsive mode on a smartphone. Compared to the responsive mode on a browser, the Primo PI in campusM is a regression.

  2. Add a self-checkout feature in campusM/Library Mobile

It would be useful to add a self-checkout function to campusM/Library Mobile. Built as a new product integration, notably with Alma, it would allow patrons to check out items on their mobile device (quick and private way for patrons to borrow items from anywhere in the stacks).

Some libraries use parallel apps for self-checking, it is not very convenient to propose different library apps to users. Adding a self-checkout feature in campusM/Library Mobile would consolidate the use of this app among the library patrons.

  3. Impossible to go back to Primo PI search results

When clicking on View It links in Primo results and getting to aggregator or publisher websites, PDFs or external resources, one cannot go back to the original search results. Using the back button goes back to Primo Search, and never to the search results. As a consequence, app users must systematically re-run their searches or click on the search history. We think that the current behavior of the Primo PI is unsatisfactory in terms of user experience.

  4. Add a Note to the ID Card PI

Please add a Note field in the ID Card PI configuration form in order to display a static note to app users when they open the ID Card tile.

Use case: We have noticed that some students try to use the app to open the library security gates or to use the self-check machines. They think that the barcode in the app can be used for that, being not aware that self-check machines and gates work with the Mifare technology. Therefore, we would like to display a note in the ID Card tile to inform them of this limitation.

  5. Integration with ALMA open hours API

I would like to suggest an enhancement in CampusM/Library Mobile regarding Product Integrations.
We would like an integration with the ALMA open hours API:

    GET /almaws/v1/conf/libraries/{libraryCode}/open-hours

in order to create a "Library open hours" tile.

The main advantage for the user is to dynamically consult library open hours.
Furthermore, it would be useful for the library not to have to maintain a static page indicating library opening hours.

  6. 'Add To Calendar' feature in Events PI

We have received feedback from Library Mobile users that regret they cannot export events to their own calendar. An 'Add To Calendar' option would be useful to users.

  7. Enable institutions to optionally configure active lists as the count

The Leganto product integration returns a count of all lists. For educators this list would be very high, for students it could also get to 36 or so in their last semester.
In both cases users in the mobile app are more interested in looking at their active lists.

Institutions should be able to configure the integration to choose which count to use, and if the user clicks/touches to view the lists then institutions should be able to configure if a list filtered to active lists only is presented.

  8. Sync timetable events to native and Office 365 calendars

The most frequent request we receive from students is to sync timetable events to their native and Office 365 calendars.

Whilst this falls outside of the scope of the campusM platform, it is clearly a complementary service which will be of commercial benefit to Ex Libris and will ensure customers maximise ROI on their campusM investment.

  9. Add NFC support to ID Card, Wallet

Our student ID cards have RFID chips in them so that users can tap into door locks, turnstiles, dining, etc.

Can you explore NFC capabilities in the mobile app, similar to how hotels are doing keyless checkin with their apps?

Ideally, an iOS user could open the Student ID PI, see the Apple "Add To Wallet" icon, and use the NFC to tap into places.

  10. Allow institution to specify Agenda view as the default for Timetable PI in RN

At the beginning of term students will often have more than six clashing events as our administrators allocate students into groups. The new calendar view, even with side-by-side rendering, makes the events unreadable and unusable (too narrow to reliably tap on). Could institutions be allowed to control whether the Timetable PI will default calendar view or the upcoming 'Agenda' view by default? Without this, we'll have to explain to users they have to switch to the Agenda view in order to read their timetable. Once users have made a selection though, the client should remember their decision. Thanks!

  11. Use Mail tile when emailing from other tiles within the App

Give the user an option to use the mail app as the default mail client for when clicking mail links from other tiles in the app.

This could be a configuration setting made at first login perhaps or pops up as a notification?

  12. Show cached data while updating in the background

Currently when a section is loaded (e.g. timetable), if the device is online it will immediately try and load fresh data, leaving a noticeable delay until anything is shown to the user. If the device is offline and data is cached from a previous session, the cached data will immediately be shown. Most apps with offline functionality will do the update in the background AFTER showing whatever data is cached (rather than not showing anything until new data is loaded). This provides a much more responsible user experience, is it possible on campusm?

  14. Using unique identifiers for the List PI items

At UCL we would like to use a unique identifier for items defined within the Lists PI. Currently the itemTitles are used as the key which really limits the PI and does not allow items with the same title and different content.

  15. Add an optional 'copy to clipboard' button to ID Card PI

One of the best features to come out of Outlook was the inclusion of the 'copy to clipboard' icon next to fields in the address cards. No more fiddly selecting the address and accidentally picking up text either side. Since many of the fields in the ID Card PI are numbers and details that students want to use in other apps, why not make it really easy to grab them? This wouldn't make sense for every field, so perhaps make it optional if administrators wanted to include it? Thanks :)

  17. Add images to quick polls

Add images next to the checkbox instead of text in the quick polls.

We've recently had a design contest where we wanted to display designs for students to vote on.

Our workaround was simply displaying the options and then linking off to the quick polls to actually vote. Less than ideal, so images instead of text in the quick poll would be awesome

  18. Allowing students to submit ratings / reviews

We've recently added some additional locations to our maps tile, so that there is a set of off-campus locations that we display to students. This includes cafes, social spaces, libraries, wellbeing spaces, etc. all across London that our students might prefer to use occasionally, rather than travelling to campus.

We'd like to add some way for students to be able to leave a rating / review of the location - i.e. selecting 1 - 5 stars, which is then saved and displayed for other students who look at that map location in the future (as an average of all the…

  19. Moodle Event overview button to link to the moodle event overview page

Currently, the Moodle integrated tile has a button called 'Events' which does not deep link to the events overview page on the moodle website.

We would like the button to link to the 'Events overview' page

  20. Limit the classes showing on Moodle tile by start/end date

Moodle live tile currently shows a student all their classes. Fresno would like the option to be able to limit this to only the classes they are currently enrolled in and remove classes from past terms.
